"The Old Post is a bit from the Rummel. Restaurant and hotel in one, but we only ate. Circa 15 cozy walk from the port of Lindau you have to go there. Many tables are decorated in front of the corner house with sturdy chairs. Inside it is also sturdy and traditionally decorated. You're sitting in a quiet area with a car traffic, but it doesn't matter to you. The advantage for car drivers is, of course, that the parking spaces are opposite. We reserved 6:00, there's something going on. Reservation is highly recommended! For us (12 people), the prepared table is still spontaneously extended by a small table so that we do not sit too tight. Then we will be supplied with cards, food and drinks separated. Above is the sausage salad, there are cakes, ice cream, soups, salads, noodles, meat, mules and sausage. So really a great deal, for every tour. The dishes are available in sizes normal and slightly smaller. If you say nix, there is the normal part. This portion size is also sufficient for normal hunger. I was a little experimental tonight and ordered the Wiener Schnitzel with pommes and salad. As a drink a regional beer: Lindauer Hell; delicious. Half for 4 euros. The operation took everything fleeting and well-launated, very neat on a big note with a line list. First the salads came, from size okay. After a waiting period, the main courts came. Only one had to be asked (baked turkey carving). I guess the kitchen was a little slower or the service missed it while picking up. Two medium-sized Wiener Schnitzel with good charge Pommes. Majo and ketchup are available on additional plates in small portion bags. Okay, cost 14.60 euros, normal in Lindau. For the ladies there was Ladysteak, 150 g turkey breast for 14.50 euros. For others a grill plate, steaks of beef, pig, turkey for 16.50 euros. Everyone was happy, nobody complained about food. There was room for Dessert. Vanilla ice cream with rumpot fruit and cream. But still find something to try. The ice part comes in a heart-shaped shell, the rum fruits extra. To gradually spoons. Rum was not saved, strong mix for 7.60 euros. Taste. We didn't regret the visit, we were looking good. The prices are of course higher because of a small piece."

"Gauchos is in the middle of nowhere but on the evening we visited, it had completely filled up shortly after opening at The restaurant is cosy and atmospheric with good music and due to its location, plenty of free parking. The menu is extensive...with all the traditional favourites; we shared the nachos with cheese starter, which is served with hot salsa, guacamole and sour cream dips and is definitely large enough for two! I chose the veggie fajitas for my main course and was amazed what the chef managed to do with some peppers, onions and mushrooms which I'd normally leave! and the tasty addition of spinach and cubed cheese. The combination of flavours was sweet, deep and delicious! The tortillas were really soft and were presented under a sombrero lid! The fajitas were served with the usual accompaniments of lettuce, salsa, guacamole and sour cream. My coeater opted for the steak burrito and remarked how it was much less stodgy than some burritos as it was filled with onions instead of rice and was served with a large side salad. Sadly, we had no room for dessert after the above but were offered complimentary tequilas instead. I'd definitely recommend dining here, but be sure to book a table as it is a very popular choice"

"This lovely restaurant is slightly out of the way, about a ten minute drive from the centre of Lindau. There is a garden at the front in which one can eat in fine weather: it was a perfect evening last night when we were there. Although the menu is only in German, the staff were delightfully friendly and helpful, and together we worked our everything we needed to know. We opted for the €79 tasting menu. It was well-designed and beautifully paced. We had the whole evening for dinner, and the meal spanned four hours! The eight courses were well-planned and perfectly executed. Ingredients were first class, with many locally-sourced ingredients. For example the figs in the chocolate and fig cake with black currant sorbet came from the fig tree right in front of our table. You can't get more local than that! The cheeses were all from the immediate vicinity of Lindau. Highlights included a delicious lobster and crayfish cream soup, and an excellent loin of veal, served with chanterelle mushrooms and miniature potato pancakes. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and felt good value for money. We seemed to be the only foreigners there yesterday: though off the beaten track, this restaurant is clearly well-known to locals, and has a very good reputation. It was full. We had made a reservation, but only on the morning of our visit. Highly recommended."

"we stayed at the hotel gierer on the hill, but were looking for something cheaper to eat somewhere. very pleased to have chosen here. fortunately, we were there in the austerity season, and they had a special menu dedicated to its magnificentness. I had white-buff with carvings and cooked kartoffels and Hollandaise sauce, which was as fantastic as I thought it would be. my daughter had swams of all kinds, which also had very good cheeses, maul bags and cartoffesalat (bayerischer art). the staff was very friendly, the sun sat in full blossom over the apple gardens. really beautiful meal"
