"My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary along with one of our sons and had been to Pizza Castle a few times. Always enjoyed our meal. This time was no different, food was great! However, it was odd we waited in the 'wait to be seated ' area for 5 minutes before anyone realized we were there. Glad we were patient, stayed and had a great meal. The fried calamari appetizer hit the spot. It came with fried jalapeños fresh feta! Yum! I kept it simple and had a sausage meatball grinder and husband had the turkey club with fries... all was well. Our son, went all out having clam chowder and penne alla vodka with chicken! My whole family have been going here for years. Just love the pizza and lasagna!!! My son celebrates every accomplishment at your place. Sucks we moved to Meriden but my son and I make it there once a month.

Oh yeah. Experience does count. Each item on this multi page menu is enough to wow your palate and drag you back for more. Though it is hiding and easily missed it is sort of next to Wells Fargo since that sign you can't miss. Lasagna assembled on the spot not defrosted,. Spaghetti with yes you can tell freshly made well true Italian meatballs. Pizza crust that is perfectly crunchy and browned covered with eggplant mushrooms and fresh spinach fresh mozzarella and of course the perfect amount of marinara pizza sauce. This is not even the beginning...chocolate cake to die for. Yes death by chocolate here is fine. Etc etc etc.

"I must say, this restaurant is fantastic and serves the most delicious food. I am accustomed to Middle Eastern cuisine, which leans more towards Lebanese than Turkish, and typically includes a lot of garlic that upsets my stomach. However, the dishes here were flavorful without being too heavy on the garlic. We ordered three main dishes and a combination cold starter plate, and ended up with plenty of leftovers to take home. The restaurant is conveniently located on 84, so if we are ever traveling in that direction again, we will definitely be stopping by."

"Fun evening on this June weekend in a private room for a NIABA/CIABA event. Before we joined the party, we chatted with Joey D'Amelio, who opened happy fresh oysters and mussels for the raw bar. We then thought of a few cocktails at the bar before we went down to dinner. The packed tables of lively diners were served platers of antipasto, penne with shaved parmesan, a medley of fried seafood, sausage with broccoli rave and a mixed green salad. Cannolis with chocolate or traditional dishes were for dessert along with cappuccino and biscotti. Everything we had yesterday at lunch was enormous. The choice of D'Amelio in the city Plot section of Waterbury on the way back from a business in an adjacent city, we chose right. Exquisite flavors throughout the culinary experience. A favorite place of my partner since the eighties when it was a small Italian grocery store and Deli where it would get hot and cold grinders until twenty years or so present when it became a popular restaurant. Starting from her cucumber martini with Hendricks Gin, I must say it is the best cucumber martini that I have ever had sheer perfection in taste, balance and cold. (Patrons can also order this with a Crop cucumber vodka. Your cocktail menu is impressive. The Cabernet sauvignon was smooth and well paired with our orders. The Mozzarella Di Casa, with a good crunch on the bread and a creamy lemon butter wine sauce, is an attractive change from the En Carozza version of this appetizer, which is always served with a red sauce. Cutting into four triangles, the presentation is visually seductive, before even a bite. The soup of the day was her take on chicken gum, so as it is February and cold, we shared a cup. A considerable part with chicken, chorizo sausages and vegetables, a bowl of it would be a hearty tasteful food in itself. The house bread is also with two types one with a sesame seed topping and the other level. Lobster ravioli with pink champagne sauce had the ideal density and the taste is incredible. My partner said one of his old friends always commands when he's with him in the years. I can see why and was happy, two remains for the next day. Veal Saltimbocca at D'Amelio's is not served the traditional Alla Roma way by choosing to add a good amount of Portobello mushrooms to their version, but my partner loved it and had no complaints to speak with this interpretation. Your court also comes with Mozzarella like some. The sautéed spinach plant side he chose was also well boiled, and he was also pleased with remains. Two cappuccinos with an Amaretto side and a Bailey side enhance this wonderful culinary outing. Lunch specialities from salads to paninis are also available for diners. "Pricey place, but very tasty food depending on what you order. My friends had the large lasagana slice and spaghetti carbonara. Those were decent but not my favorite. The carbonara was the better of the two. However, my Rigatoni Scarpiello was da bomb! The red sauce in that dish was so tasty. I'm glad I went with this dish. The meatballs were very good and tender. And the garlic breadsticks well, I could have eaten a whole pan of those ; Really good meal."
