"Our first visit to Propellerhead was an experience to be repeated!!! Staff was warm and welcoming. Our group of 9 was seated promptly. We shared awesome appetizers of mini pies, mac n cheese and ratatouille. The mini veggie pies could only get such incredible taste from the finest, freshest ingredients handled by a chef who has a light pastry hand. Expecting a traditional ratatouille of stewed veggies, we were pleasantly surprised by mandolin cut eggplant, squash, tomato grilled to perfection and resting on a bed of rich puree of veggies, spiced just right. The mac n cheese got raves! The burger eaters claimed their dinner was the best ever. My succatash contained fresh vegetables bursting...

This space used to be a dingy bar that was generally avoided, now a great little cafe. Very pretty airy cafe, great food, great service. We stopped by for a quick lunch and will be coming back again. Tomato soup is as good as advertised, grilled cheese sandwiches and cheeseburger are pretty yummy as well. Happy to have them in my neighborhood :

The place is barely open, but I decided to give it a try. Food- Four stars. The tomato soup is fantastic. The grilled cheese was way too greasy (and this coming from someone who eats croissants with butter), but is almost great. Really good Iced Americano, I will be stopping here on my way to work. Service- Four stars. It's a new place so I'll give the very friendly and personable server a pass for being a little scattered. Atmosphere- three stars. The interior looks like a work in progress. I've walked past at night and the lights look way too bright. Definitely not somewhere I'd want to sit and have a beer, so I hope they address this. On the plus side, comfy couches! Including comfy couch...

Propellerhead is an absolutely perfect addition to the wonderful Cortelyou strip. They're currently still in their soft opening stage but so far I think I may be in love. I was on my way home now, drove by and saw they were open so of course I stopped my car short and ran in. I scanned the menu and it is perfect. Short, sweet and the perfect eats to go from Breakfast to Lunch to Dinner. I'm currently waiting for the tomato soup with grilled cheese that I quickly ordered. The cobb salad is delicious and filling and the purple yam gnocci looks to die for. They are going to be getting a liquor license and the back yard is going to open in the next couple months.
