"I am a fan of Korean cuisine and decided to try this place based on its good reviews. However, I was disappointed with the food. I ordered a veggie hot stone dish for $20, but was surprised to find that the rice was already fried and there was baby crate spinach instead of sigeumuchi namul. The tofu was bland and the wild rice was soggy. The staff at the counter did not seem interested in helping me with my order. The dish eventually cooked through, but I was uncomfortable eating it. I would not recommend this place as there are better Korean restaurants in the area."

This restaurant is a hidden gem with amazing food, fresh ingredients, and friendly staff. The atmosphere is cozy and feels more like being at home than in a restaurant. I would highly recommend it, 10 out of 10.

After taking a stroll, we decided to dine at a Korean restaurant, one of our favorites. The portions were generous and the service was friendly. My partner ordered the short ribs and I had the bibimbap, which were absolutely delicious. The menu also had plenty of vegetarian options. The food tasted fresh and the restaurant had a cozy and intimate ambiance, making it feel like a hidden gem.

I absolutely love this place! Every time I am in Philly, I make sure to visit. A new favorite of mine is definitely their DIY hot stone construction. I love that I can build my own dish exactly how I want it. I have tried most of the menu now, and I am torn between the hot stone, Katsu bulgogi, and japchae as my new favorite. The fact that it is BYOB makes the late-night visits even more enjoyable. The atmosphere and staff are super friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning.

"We were there celebrating two birthdays. Our server Faith was wonderful. She was attentive without being intrusive and knowledgeable about the menu. We were a table of 6 and ordered quite a bit of food, some of which was great and others lackluster. The bao buns were great and the small calamari salad was huge and those who had it said delicious. The spareribs were good as well as the edamame dumplings, although the way those were served made it hard to fully enjoy. Each dumpling should be on a individual type spoon so you can enjoy the soup part as well as the dumpling. The way they were served in one large bowl with only one spoon made it so the soup part is left at the bottom. I did request extra spoons from the expediter but they never came. The worst part of our appetizer course was somehow an item was switched to another in the computer and served to us. It had shellfish in it and that wasn’t known when someone at our table who doesn’t eat shellfish ate it. The sashimi was good but the tuna tartare thing was really bad. The entrees we had were the duck, which I was told was delicious, the miso cod, which was fishy, the whole fish which was tasteless, the lobster fried rice, which was okay but lacking flavor. The best dish was the black pepper beef, it was delicious and elegantly served. We had all the sides and all were quite good especially the eggplant and the wasabi mashed potatoes. It was a nice evening but it felt a little stale for a Starr restaurant."
