I've lived in King George, VA for 4 years, but I just tried Smyrna today. I ordered the Lamb Kofte Kebab and Profiterol for dessert. The serving was very generous. I think the dish is sized to feed 2 people, but I had the entire thing to myself. The price was fair. I really enjoyed the lamb. It was prepared perfectly. It reminded me of the kebabs I had while on deployment in Iraq. The bulgur pilaf was also delicious. It's just a shame that I did not try Smyrna sooner, because I will be moving away in just a couple of weeks. I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Mediterranean style cuisine.

I went for 4 stars out of 5 simply because it is not 'fine ' dinning but that is not a reason to avoid this great little find. This combination dinning spot, carryout, and market is a surprise gem in a nondescript strip mall. There is not a bad meal on the menu and everything is flavorful and genuine Turkish-Mediterranean fare. The Turkish coffee and tea are prepared in the authentic style. The surprise item on the menu is the Turkish breakfast which is simple, hearty, and rustic. All of the standard items do not disappoint.
