"NOT ALLERGY FRIENDLY. am visiting the region and my parents who live here took me here for dinner. I have a shellfish allergy that I developed later in life. It is not life threatening but it will definitely ruin my day/night if I have a reaction. I went to the restroom while my parents ordered for us the hot buffet at the counter. As I left the bathroom and met back up with my parents I was approached by a female manager with short blonde hair (I did not catch her name) who informed me that all fried food was fried in the same oil as shellfish and she could not guarantee no cross contamination for any bar food because of guests sharing spoons. She said that besides fried food everything that comes out of the kitchen is shellfish free upon arrival. She offered to bring me a baked or sweet potato from the kitchen. I asked her if she could provide unused spoons from the kitchen that I could use to serve myself away from other food that was touched by the serving spoons. She said yes but again said that she cannot guarantee no cross contamination. I said that I understood. She got me 5 clean spoons. I got myself some salad (lettuce, tomatoes, beets, croutons, olive oil) with no reaction. I got myself a cheddar biscuit. No reaction. Then I got some sweet potato casserole. It was a new tray that was not scooped from yet at all. I used my spoon and took some from a corner where no one had touched yet. Upon first bite I started having a shellfish allergic reaction. I understand that I knew and I accepted the risk and I am not mad at this establishment in any way. I actually appreciate the manager being as upfront as she was. I am just writing this review for anyone who has an allergy that is life threatening that the hot bar is contaminated even just out of the kitchen. I would not trust this kitchen or restaurant. If you chose to take the risk please ensure you have an epipen and someone who knows how to use it is with you."
