"All the food was wicked good. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve had in the last 3 years or so. The only thing that didn’t blow me away was the Cesar salad, it was pretty average. The clam chowder on the other had was hands down the best I’ve had. I’d go back for just that. I don’t like mushrooms at all, but the mushrooms that came with the porterhouse complemented it so good I think I like mushrooms now, at least with steak. The wine, the bread the calamari we all so good. We will definitely go back. Worth the money."

"I am sure this place is rocking during the “season”. I stopped yesterday to enjoy some fried clams on my way to kittery. there was a group of 15? 16? you enjoy lunch, so it sounded just like juli. but besides ordering and fast lunch service were definitely enjoyed! there was a charge to get tweeper rings instead of fries $2,50 I had no problem anymore to pay. I expected that. Unfortunately, they are or somehow sucked. they seemed curious to be a mixture of two different wobbles. how to get half the pringles y-type they get at burger king and half thin crisp wobble stray. ah. Maybe they ran out of a “brand” and I caught them in the repositioning? the cuddles were in order when you found decently large pieces. but contain many crumbs. I know it's clams. but if you want to charge $18, I should expect a better choice. they put a squeeze bottle of tartaric acid on the table, which is a pleasant surprise for the typical (too small) smokers that they expect at a place like this. Thank you! as mentioned, there was a big group in front of me. So, maybe they wiped out the supplies of mushes and rings, and I just hit the bad timing? the claw was excellent; and the atmosphere was what they expect, even enjoy, in a classic seacoast crab. as for eating, however, there are better ways to get close."

"On Saturday night we went to another restaurant we had never visited before. I had heard some good things about this place, so we pulled the trigger and drove to Hampton to CR's The Restaurant(Pic 1). You are located directly at I-95 on Rte 27. Drive until and then to the restaurant leave us with the impression and promise of things to come. After we set ourselves on our table, we started to look over the menu. A few minutes later, our waitress Anne stopped and introduced herself and told us about the specials of the evening. For an appetizer, my wife ordered the Sweet Potato Stew(Pic 2). This was made with sweet potatoes, black-eyed peas, chorizo and kale. She loved this app. It had a light kick, was tasty and delicious. I ordered the Beet Salad(Pic 3). It was loaded with fresh water cresss, red and golden beds, dried cherries, shaved red onion, sunflower seeds and a refreshing goat cheese Vinaiigrette. Wow, that was a wonderful salad and big enough for two to share what I didn't do. It had great taste and the cherries added beautiful depth to the dish. I would definitely order it again. For dinner, my wife ordered the Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken (Pic 4). This was a really big salad, the romaine salad, croutons, gurke and their own homemade dressing. The chicken was moist and delicate and perfectly grilled. For my dinner selection I chose the Mediterranean Shrimp(Pic 5). The dish included 6 large shrimps, which were boiled in a white wine lemon broth with mixed olive oil, capers, garlic, spinach and spaghetti. I sat every bite of this plate. This dish had so much taste!!! What I loved is that when I was done, there were hardly any broth. It wasn't groundy, it looked more like an engraving. I've had dishes swimming in broth. This dish was perfect and I was sad that it was gone. Anne asked us about Dessert and we said yes. She brought us the Dessert menu and Decaf coffee. We chose the Tuxedo Mousse(Pic 6). As you can see, there is a white chocolate mousse on the bottom, then a dark chocolate mousse over it and then with a thick chocolate goose. On the side a puppet sweater was blown with Cacao-Nips. OMG!!! I'm glad we share that. Holy cow, that was Sssoo good. The mousse was light, but with taste and the goose was rich. This was a decadent dessert and a suitable way to finish a beautiful evening. CR's The restaurant has not disappointed and the promise we felt on arrival was delivered to spades. Your menu is extensive and the food is as good as the restaurant looks. It's beautiful inside and out. The service Anne provided us was impeccable. We will definitely make the trip to Hampton again to taste other dishes. If you have not been, you might want to consider adding this jewel to your list. Go!"

"Arrived just 10 mins before opening. Was told by manager that he restaurant wasn't open and I could read the menu posted outside. Just a few minutes later, an older couple walked up to the front door. The manager immediately opened the door and let them inside. I made a comment that I had to wait outside, but these people could come in before the restaurant opened? The man coming in mentioned that the manager knew him so that's why. So, a potential customer is me to wait outside? This had to be one of the most rude experiences I have had with a restaurant. I sat at the bar, and mentioned what happened to the bartender and she said that they hadn't opened yet. I mentioned that it still wasn't 4pm so it's the fact that the manager was willing to let these people in before the restaurant open, but not me. She walked away, and then I just decided to leave. If standard etiquette and kindness is not on the menu, I don't want whatever else they serve. Also, I could only imagine the service would be worse, as I would probably be made to wait longer than these two people who came after me."
