"Here's one you can count on. Our favorite has been for years. But this review is somewhat different... I give them five stars not only for food (what it deserves... but also for entertainment: sit in the breakfast bar... right next to the grill. Take your time and just watch what's going on. There are three guys you... and there's art in the air. Every single element that comes from this kitchen looks delicious. They are efficient... even fast... but quiet... cool... and collected. I have eaten the way through the menu over the years... but this last visit... I wanted a grilled ham and cheese, and I went out to get it here. Flavor was dying for... preparation and quality... the best... and...

the street café has the best French toast I ever had! I have family members who also enjoy the eggs ‘skillet’ dishes... I bet every breakfast is great! Also large portions – the French toast slices are larger than any restaurant I already had.

We fell on Sunday afternoon. The menu had a lot of choice. Prices are appropriate for the genre. We have an omelet. It was huge, all fillers were fresh, it came with genuine cut fried potatoes and toast. The coffee was good. The place is a little small. There are outdoor seats on the back, we came too late for it and instead had a small stand. The decor is interesting, many old items displayed everywhere. The staff was attentive and friendly.

It is amazing how to write a review, good or bad, with one or only very few experience(s). Since my sister-in-laws live in Fallbrook, I ate a lot of meals at Wayside and while I don't have a real favorite, I can honestly say that I never had a bad meal there. Sure, some better than others, and no... It's not the best food in Calif, but I can't say I ever had a “bad” meal there. I've never been disappointed. I guess if I had to choose a favorite, it would be the stand-by, Cheeseburger and Pommes. It is small, cozy, full of memories and drinks, an honest (but small) lunch counter overlooking the grill, and really nice people.
