"tl;dr tacos and chowder was tasty. service was good. E X P E R I E N C E we came on a Saturday night 8pm as a group of 2 with dog. we had a 5 min wait. there 's a ton of openings in the restaurant. maybe just 20 tables. not as busy as other restaurants.practically all the other restaurants were packed. get to this area before 6 or after 8. otherwise expect a 30-60 min wait. D E C K S E A T I N Gplenty of outdoor seating. TV outside too for the sports fans! well lit with cute string lights. love the Spanish moss trees that hang over the deck area. tables are well spaced in deck area, for dogs. really appreciate that. F O O D sweet potato fries 5.00 it 's decent. get it if you 're craving it...

I have to give this place 5 stars. We go every Saturday and every waitress is the best...best, best best! It 's a casual beach bar 2 blocks up from the beach but we don 't really have beach bars here as that 's not how SSI is set up. We have bars near the beach . The menu needs a new start as we don 't have much to choose from and not anything different. Hopefully there will be a new menu soon. The bartender makes great drinks. I 've never not had a great time there.

We went here because my in-laws said it was one of the best place they've ever eaten. I was rather shocked to see the poor rating. Honestly, we would not usually go to a place with a 3.0 rating but I have to tell you that it is not a 3.0 restaurant. The food is absolutely outstanding. I see most of their poor ratings are because of service and maybe that's a problem during Covid but today we had one of the best meals we've had in a long time. The blackened mahi Ruben, the Grouper finger basket, the Grouper salad, and the shrimp Poboy are all very good. And we could not have had a better waitress. "We went to ECHO the first time on The young lady that waited on us was great. My prime rib meal was okay but not great by a long shot, my wife had shell in her crab cake BLT. There was a horrible fly problem, the server apologized and said we are trying to get rid of them. We had a reservation on our anniversary, food was a little better but should be better for what you pay for food. The fly problem was just as bad and when we said something to the server was not pleasant and said it's because they are a waterfront restaurant. Not impressed with him!!! We believe in giving restaurants a second chance, both times ECHO fell short. We frequent waterfront restaurants whenever possible, many with outside dining similar to ECHO and have never had a fly problem"

"There were 3 of us. We started by sharing a beer salad, calamari and corneal dusted oysters. Delicious!!! I was content with that and so the other two people decided to have the catch of the day but asked to change what it was served with. No problem. Split the plate, no problem. Had the chocolate coconut pie for dessert-YUM!!! A great meal and great service."

"My mother and I wanted to go to an Italian restaurant while on vacation, but we needed one that would be pet friendly, and it was the best choice! They took care of our baby Leo so well, and made sure he always had fresh cold water! The pasta was amazing, and they not only made sure we had a great dinner but also offered us to have refreshing water with lemon to go and even gave us an amazing dessert, which was unexpected and very sweet (I wish I got the name, but the girl who was helping us had long blonde hair in a pony tail; also, very beautiful one! ! Also, if you choose to seat outside, you definitely do not have to worry about it being hot, as they have fans everywhere, and it is also a gorgeous place overall. We are definitely coming back there when we go to St. Simons Island again!"

"The first time here for my wife and me. An excellent meal all around. The food, service, seating and I prepared great tasting food very well. We sat near the window overlooking the marina. The duck rolls for appetizer with a well prepared drink was perfect. Salad very fresh with great dressing, dinner Paella and supposedly scallops and shrimp excellent, desert cake perfect and coffee okay. The wine was very good with a beautiful cast. We enjoyed our time very much, especially our super friendly and experienced server Laney. Thank you."

"The food at halyards has gotten so expensive while the quality has drastically declined. The place was dead when we went and the value for what we paid was pathetic. We were really disappointed as we’ve enjoyed eating there for years whenever we visit Sea Island. We won’t be back."
