"We 've been coming to Kiawah Island for more than 35 years. When Freshfield 's Village opened a few years ago, we were excited when new restaurants came on to the scene. They 've all been hit or miss. We decided to give Cantina 76 a try as we were in the mood for Mexican food. Complimentary chips and salsa? Nope, diners must buy the salsa for $5 and the Queso was $7 or $8. Wife wanted to order the Chimichanga but didn 't want a couple of ingredients that was in it. Our server said, I 'm sorry, but these are pre-made 'frozen ' We were stunned. Frozen? So, we each ordered 2 tacos and an enchilada. The food is disappointing. I enjoy chips with salsa and drinks here, but there is often a shortage of staff so we've had long wait times for food to come out. Tourist trap for kiawah.

*Review was a 4 star until recently as food quality/portions seem to have declined a bit* I love this location however, feel the quality of food and portion sizes could improve dramatically. The size of the tacos are very, very small as it relates to actual contents of what 's filling them up. Fortunately the time we went when these photos were taken, they were a little more full than normal but most times the tacos will not be big and full tacos. The sampler is always a staple, and I like to add the habanero purée to the red salsa (and on top of my tacos. We really enjoy sitting outside at this location if weather permits. "I don't know if I would classify Hege 's a 'French' restaurant, but it's definitely good and good worth a visit (and repeat visits). The cocktails were pretty good, and yes, they could not make some on the menu...the appetizers were delicious, like the main course. My wife had a SE Asian inspired curry dish and I had good old-fashioned fritted flounder, potatoes and hush puppies. Fish was super fresh. I didn't think I could eat it all, but I did..ab had no place for the desert, the main course he was quite considerable. Service was friendly and fast. Wasn't too loud at all (I'm off from loud restaurants). Ambience was comfortable and relaxing. You also have a bar area if you want to eat and drink while you see the game or just vice versa. I enjoyed our experience here and will definitely come back. Very recommended."

"This place is more of a sports bar, so it's not your quiet type eatery, it is very loud, and very lively when certain games are playing. I will never fault a restaurant for being loud when that is its very spirit! The food is not top quality cuisine like fine dining, hence the four stars on that, but please don't take that as anything negative; It's quite the opposite in fact. The food itself is very good for what this type of restaurant offers. Sports bars normally have basic food that has flavor but not exquisite. Pictured here is a bacon burger with their special tangy sauce, which is actually quite good so to speak. Their fries are crunchy so if you don't like that, this may not be for you. The service was incredible, I was served by a bartender by the name of Tyler H. He was very chill, very friendly, and hearing he was willing to sacrifice his time off to work here because of rather dubious workers gives me great respect to this grill. I will most definitely be visiting here every time I visit Kiawah simply because its workers have faith in the restaurant. I wish that kid the best of luck, and great kudos for his diligence in dealing with the customers. Especially a dork such as myself."

"they surely immerse the fish restaurant. Definitiw decent enough for a meal, but if they are looking for this sweet resort for an all-out deluxe seafood cuisine, then this is probably not. everything is quite fried and very fat. I got the crabcakes; they were in order, but I would not order them again because they were not lump and instead were super stringy and damp inside. decent taste, but necessary to cook more. for $38 I expected more. I've been riding and hush puppy as my side. fries were nothing special; the lush puppies were really delicious. the environment is very nice for pictures and hike on the marina."

"We came in with a group of 10 people! We have our delicious ice creams and swimmers very fast. Only two servers worked so I was impressed with their speed. We're coming back! Oh, and the retro-decor is really funny."
