"I wonder why people keep commenting and saying the food is good. This hills kitchen cooks or serves nonsense to people.Pepper soup that doesn't use spices nor pepper and it's horribly tasteless!! It's not as shown on menu which uses catfish, they gave me tilapia!! It stinks like raw fish in some boiled soup!! I'm not sure this is a Nigerian cuisine because it's THE WORSE!! THE MOST HORRIBLE Nigerian food I have ever tasted in MY LIFE!! The egusi soup is totally trash!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT AT ALLLLL!!!! I would have given ZERO STARS if I can!!!!"

Stopped by Hills Kitchen with a Nigerian friend and was met by two friendly Nigerians who spoke with my friend in their local Igbo language, which helped me choose the food.It turned out that one of the Nigerians is the owner, who was attentive. We ordered a spicy and tasty soup and it came with yam fufu, and I had the Orijin drink.

We order beef stew and got beef jerky with tomato soup which seems to be spoiled. Also ordered chicken stew and end up getting two chicken drumsticks ? ?. Jollof rice was too spicy, not sure why it was made spicy cuz we didn’t request for spicy. didn’t seem enough to call traditional cuz I had nigerin food before made by my nigerin friends. ?

It wasn’t the crazy, knock my socks off, oh my god I need to return every day for the next week feeling that I usually have for places I give 5 stars to, but it was solidly solid.The atmosphere and service were 5.The pao de paneer would be a skip- it was good but not substantially different from the Brazilian cheese bread it’s based off of. The chutneys were good, but again, nothing I would order again.Our mains were delicious! I would call the things we had vaguely Indian- it’s not clearly Indian like some of the other contemporary Indian restaurants in the city. Both dishes were great though! I haven’t had anything like either of those dishes!The cake was delicious- moist and dense and wonderful.Overall, we are excited to return some time! I wanna try the poutine for sure and the ravioli!It was clear that whoever created this place put a lot of thought and love into it, and I hope it becomes a place we return to every year."

"The gigantic guava donut topped with cream cheese is simply amazing. I'd like to go back to try some of their other unique donut flavors (such as hibiscus and dulce de leche). We also ate empanadas: one with egg and cheese, and the other with guava and cheese. The latte was on point too. Unfortunately, they don't use any real plates, cups, or cutlery, so everything is packed in cardboard boxes, even if you're eating in. Despite it all being biodegradable, it would still be better for the environment (and customers eating in) to use real cutlery, plates, cups, etc. Overall though, a cheery, bright café to enjoy your vegan breakfast. "Incredible little place for a quick, healthy, perfectly filling meal. It seems like a weird location but it's easy to get to. I had the tofu bento box, which comes with two sides, and two onigiri. For the onigiri I had an original and an ume one. They were incredible. Sometimes onigiri can be dry, or you don't get some of the filling in each bite but these were perfect. The rice wasn't dry at all but was properly sticky and almost creamy. Also the ume wasn't just a pickled plum, it was a great tart paste. For a drink I got the yuzu koshi. It tasted like a very light yuzu soda; not too sweet, and not too carbonated. It was really refreshing and delicious so make sure to try it! Will definitely be returning here."
