"What a gift to have this place here in Chicago. You can order all kinds of tea drinks, sure, but my recommendation is the tea bar where you sit and enjoy what the owner is brewing. I recently learned about Chinese tea methods and the owner has shared so much more knowledge and sold me leaves to brew at home, including a Phoenix Oolong he roasted himself, the best tasting Da Hong Pao, and a raw Pu’erh. I was also able to pick up gifts for my friends and family, including a tea tray and a couple small pots. My friend also purchased a gorgeous Gaiwan from him. This place is at the top of my list for where to spend time in Chicago. If you love tea, it’s a must-visit."

Great place to learn about tea and try new types!! The open bar is a great way to be surprised with new teas and learn about the history, culture, brewing methods and more!

Living Water Tea House has a third space vibe, something which is incredibly rare in our increasingly busy, commercialized cities. The owner is passionate and knowledgeable about Chinese tea: he was talking with us about from where each tea was sourced from and what makes each style unique. While they sell modern boba and milk tea drinks, I strongly recommend the traditional tea platter experience instead.
