"I'm not sure if this is a high point or a low point in my drinking career but I can now officially say that I have waited outside of a bar for the doors to unlock. We were looking to get a few afternoon adult beverages on a sunny Sunday afternoon and found this gem on Yelp and realized it wasn't open for another 10 minutes but decided to hang out and wait, which I'm glad we did. Five stars is a bit over the top for a dive bar, but McDonough's came through in the clutch two nights in a row. Labor Day evening, not many places open near my hotel but McDonough's was. Had a gin and tonic and hamburger while sitting on the patio enjoying the evening air. Hamburger was good-sized and juicy, fries were perfect. The next night I didn't get a chance for dinner until 10 p.m. and all the nearby places had stopped serving food by then, so back to McDonough's. Martini was delicious and nicely priced, hot wings very tasty. On both nights the bartender/waitress was friendly and efficient. Yay McDonough's!

McDonough 's Pub is best described by one phrase: dive bar. In fact, after coming here I have to say this might be the epitome of dive bars. The Good: Prices are CHEAP! Less than $40 for approximately 8 drinks. Daamn! Live music appears to be offered on the regular! Yasss! TONS of TVs. Making this a great game day destination! Several pool tables and dart boards too! The Bad: The draught beers and soda water were flat. Service was slow. Def could use some updating. The Ugly: If you order a mixed drink it either comes ridiculously strong or has you questioning if they forgot the booze. Yikes!
