"We were visiting from San Francisco and had to rely on reviews to put together my daughter's 21st Birthday Bar Crawl list, which included 5 stops. The Monarch was our last stop, conveniently located just two short blocks from our hotel. After some disappointing experiences at stops 3 and 4, we were hoping the Monarch would live up to its hype. I am happy to report that it did not disappoint. Gwen reached out to me before our visit to confirm they were ready to help celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. Even the security staff at check-in acknowledged her special day. Once upstairs, our waitress, Tamesha, welcomed us with complimentary Champagne and a special birthday shot for my daughter....

The view from the bar was stunning and the ambiance was great, but unfortunately the service was lacking. We had trouble locating our waitress and were reprimanded by the bar staff when we tried to order drinks at the bar. As a result, we decided to leave.

I was there with some of my old coworkers and we had a good time however, the drinks were watered down- I went home with a $600 bill and no buzz. I would not recommend this place for drinks or food. There was a special HH menu from 2-4pm but by the time I got my bill at 7pm; the bartender charged me full price. Nice cute rooftop but the drinks are overprices !

We went to this rooftop bar for drinks, but they claimed my reservation wasn't on their list and insisted I had the wrong month (which I didn't). It's a hip and noisy spot, more suitable for younger crowds looking for a bar with music. We sat outside and were offered a heater, but were then told it was broken. Overall, not a great experience, but the view of The Empire State Building was fantastic.
