"Smokey Jose’s is our new favorite restaurant on the island! Whether you want to enjoy cocktails on the back terrace overlooking the water or enjoy lunch / dinner.... this is the place! You have to try the smoked pineapple Margarita!! It's nothing but AMAZING!! And the BBQ.... WOW! The house smoked Brisket was phenomenal, along with the selection of House-Made BBQ sauces. Our server was great, and we could even meet the owner. He is really a big guy who felt welcome and has a true passion for his business and Mackinac Island. We can't wait to come back!!"

Our waitress Kricket was absolutely amazing as the first thing on this hot day get some dishes ice water for our fur babies!! The food was excellent, highly recommend the Brisket sandwich or the garbage can Nachos!!!

The food was fantastic. Something for everyone, even the kids. The prices were on point with what you expect to pay....didn not gouge you just because of the goal. I swim back to the island to eat again in this place. Friendly staff and a great location. Jack Armstrong (I think the owner) was great. felt like a local family joint. Would go back to a heartbeat.

Smoky Jose employees on Mackinac Island were amazing last weekend! It's right in front of the Star-Line Ferry Service, and when we got out of the boat, both my guys were starving. We had to wait 15 minutes for an outside seat because we had our dog Cosmo with us. While we waited the very nice manager (or head waitress)? both my children brought delicious chicken fingers and waffles to eat while they waited. So unexpected and wonderful. Excellent service and food! A certain jewel of a place on the island.

"Everything was great until we paid the bill. We have eaten many times at the 1852 Grill Room, and would give a 5 star every time we have been there. We pay with cash lately, because we don't agree with the convince fee for using credit card. We run a business, and accept credit card, and do not charge a fee just because we think it is wrong to do so. Nevertheless, if a service wants to charge that fee, it is their right, and we accept that. Anyway, we paid with cash and still got charged the convience fee. Did not realize it until we got back to our room. Or else we just got shorted change, which was the amount of the convience fee. We left a 25% top because the service and food and accommodation was so good. I will check my change closer from now on. Love the 1852 Grill room, and all the 906 group."

"selective smiles served. So why our server smiled significantly more on the other 10 top table than our 4 top. hardly got a smirk and she had no social skills with customers. also noticed other Girpo servers, but the happiest workers seemed to be the hostess and bussing staff. but eating was great, so I gave the place 5 stars. ribeye so delicate and delicate with kartoffels, on a bed mixed greens, only place ever that a cherry in a white russian? others had white fish with some crust-shaped crumbs (sty but me a ted over boiled soggy) topped slides (good). and zucchini ravioli (big if they are a vegetarian). restaurant not in full capacity for a Friday night, but we just accidentally looked down a next street and saw the sign. the smileys that get out of this."

"It was my first time visiting the restaurant. The ambience was beautiful and the establishment was clean. The manager ware very accommodating to our reservation as we arrived almost an hour before our time and were able to be seated. The customer service was also great and the staff was friendly. . . Now the food was Okay. I had the chicken sandwich (derby burger, but chicken version). The meat was small and very dry. The chilli was great. My family enjoyed their nachos and the onion rings were also good. My husband and I ordered the chicken sandwich and was not pleased. I would go back and order something else. I would give them a second try."

"Although our family has been coming to Mackinac for several years, I just discovered the outdoor bar. My son and I had a great time watching the world cups at the bar with the water view in the background. Some friendly local owners and visitors during that. That was a great discovery. I recommend this place on the island."
