"My friend and I have been going to the Garden Gate Cafe in Niwot ever since we first tried it out a few years ago (I think in 2019) but the last 3 visits have been a disappointment. I won’t go into detail on the 1st and 2nd occasions but I can say that today’s visit (2-14-2022) was probably the last time we’ll go to the Cafe for the foreseeable future. We had a table outside and had to ask for sugar for the ice tea, then salt and pepper for the FF. Small things, I know, but weird that they wouldn’t think of supplying those things from the beginning. The food came out without waiting too long but my Club Sandwich was missing the promised layer of avocado and my friend’s Mixed Greens Salad with grilled chicken arrived with slabs of chicken seasoned in teriyaki sauce! There was only iceberg lettuce and one small piece of avocado. I’ve had both of these items in the past and they were scrumptious and I’ve never minded paying the $13.40 plus beverage, tax, etc.. We asked if there was a new chef and they said yes and that they are working out the kinks. I truly hope so, because this was our all time favorite place to eat (We drive from Golden and Boulder, respectively)and it’s sad that it has slid so far ‘south’. Please consider making some changes so you don’t lose your loyal clientele and future customers as well."

"the personal was great. they were very busy and seemed to be shorthanded, but it was good to handle. that was so. the calamari was good, but was not freshly prepared. the Trufle-Pommes were great. I had the mahi mahi and it seemed like it was frozen before, but the waitress said it was fresh when I ordered. either it was considered. my wife had the lamb stew. it was pretty good and better than the fish. the prices were reasonable."

"A wonderfully relaxed dining atmosphere, indoors and particularly outdoors. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming and funny, holding a good tempo of not being rushed, but not keeping you waiting for long, either. Great selection of local Niwot beers and wines my particular favorite is the Insane Rush IPA, which gives you the traditional IPA flavor, but without the bite in its aftertaste. Bountiful selection of classic American comfort foods, but elevated to the degree of fine dining. I thoroughly enjoyed cornbread with chipotle honey butter and tostones with chimichurri and spicy aioli for appetizers, followed by an amazing main course of braised short rib with cheesy grits, sautéed spinach and red wine jus. They slow cook the meat for many hours throughout the day, and the meat was so tender that didn't even need my knife at all, as the meat simply fell apart as I drove my fork into it. Before I could claim a wheelbarrow to roll me out of this charming saloon style building, I couldn't resist twisting my arm for a rich chocolate brownie with a raspberry sauce swirl on the plate. A perfect place to celebrate any occasion with family and friends I can't recommend enough supporting this lovely gem of Niwot and can't wait to be back for more soon!"

"I was hyper impressed by this restaurant! Yeah, it's in a strip and yes, I didn't expect anything spectacular. We showed ourselves for Happy Hour, 8 to Burgers Fries Wings for less than $40 including the top. And what's amazing is that everything was great. The drinks were wonderful, and the service was good. It may not look like much from outside, trust me, this place is the real deal. Get for a happy hour if you can! And if you miss it, go anyway."
