"Saw lots of high reviews, so I gave it a shot. Very average food. Not bad, but underwhelmed.Basic enchiladas and tacos. Taco meat had no distinctive taste, basically no seasoning to it. Tasted like hamburger meat with salt and pepper. Enchiladas ends were hard and dry, the sauce on top was minimal, had to ask for more.Rice had several large clumps. When I arrived there were only three occupied tables so not busy until I left.Mexican food in Southern states is so much better. You can taste richness and the cultural spices, not hot, just more flavor that you can taste and even smell as food arrives at table. I've eaten at 7 different Mexican restaurants in the area and that seems to be a pattern. Again, not bad, just so so tasteParking: In a strip mall so ample parking available"

"It 's my 'go to ' hyvee! I go here for groceries, pharmacy, coffee, and/or a meal! I have recently been going through some health challenges so I 've been utilizing the drive up option to get my groceries. I have never had a bad experience with it yet! The employees are happy, friendly, and kind and do a stellar job at loading the groceries in the back of my car so that nothing gets squished or broken. All of the employees are also so kind to my kids! I have 7 year olds so we already know they 're big talkers, but the employees always talk and joke with them. It truly makes their day/night! The food selections are usually pretty good and surprisingly stocked given all the supply issues covid brought about. They have super friendly employees who are ready and willing to help anyone. Good people. Good atmosphere!"

"I have higher expectations for the price I paid. The only reason I keep coming back to this restaurant is because it's my daughter's favorite. The meatballs are decent, but the red sauce lacks flavor and needs a generous amount of parmesan to enhance it, even though the parmesan gives the food an odd starchy taste. The service is consistently unreliable and often appears disinterested or annoyed. The atmosphere, like the food, is unremarkable, although there is plenty of seating which is a plus. The breadsticks, usually soft and slightly greasy, were dry and crunchy on both ends, indicating they were either old or overcooked. I would not recommend this restaurant as a dining option. The only reason to come here is if you are in a situation like mine, where someone you care about inexplicably enjoys the food."

"Visited the Leaning Tower of Pizza located at Uptown Ankeny during a Farmer 's Market being held just a few blocks away. I mention this, because if you choose to visit this fine restaurant on a Saturday during the Spring Summer, be prepared, as all dining establishments can be rather crowded. We were fortunate to walk in and be seated immediately. We knew what we were going to get, so as soon as the waitress arrived, were ordered the Leaner specialty pizza (medium) and half order of onion rings. I 'm including a pic of the pizza, but forgot to take a pic of the rings, which were spectacular. Make no mistake, these are genuine rings. You 'll love them. As for the pizza, I always try to find something special I like about an entree that just about any restaurant in the city can make. Over the years of visiting Leaning Tower, I 've discovered it 's THE BEST DAMN SAUCE AROUND. No kidding ... that 's what sets it aside from other thin crust pizzas. So, give Leaning Tower at Uptown a visit, and try the rings and pizza."

"OK, SOOOO happy we tried this place. After a kinds rough week, I needed a beer. My son wanted ice cream. They had both PLUS nachos. .. definitely checked out the rest of the menu and talked to a few guests about what they had gotten. All of us seemed in agreement, this place is awesome.We will FOR SURE be going back. Plus that we only live 3-5 minutes away depending on lights.It's also locally owned and operated so that's cool. Adds a couple notches to the belt' when it comes to where to go and supporting local.Our server was great, the menu looked amazing (we'll be back to try more and update this review), the beer selection was on point and it was pretty cool to see the head honcho out there talking to tables.10/10."

"Delicious!!! I've gotten the BBQ MIX twice and it's so yummy! The meat is tender and full of flavor! I like how the beef is thinly sliced! And you get a good amount for the price!!I also love the egg rolls! They're full of meat!! And the pasta salad is yummy too!! Next time I'm going to try the Katsu chicken and I've heard a lot about the spam musubi so I want to try that next time too!!!"

"that was our last attempt to eat at this place. the salmon was over boiled and quite sure that it was not fresh to taste so bad. the crab cakes have garnel and the price went up and was not made with fresh crumbs. when I asked if the clams were fresh, at least the waitress was honest and didn't shake her head. the only bright side was the service. our waitress was very good. good services and good eating do not go together."

"We decided to try a restaurant we hadn’t been to one day and picked this place since light let food settles better on summer days. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is one of those places where you can’t stop eating even if you’re full. We shared a beef gyro, the smoked salmon plate, and the Mediterranean French fries. Then finished off with the baklava. We can already tell there wouldn’t be anything on the menu we don’t like. Everything was extremely delicious and we couldn’t stop talking about visiting again. Updated review 9/2/2023 What is going on here? We 've been here 3 times in the past 6 months, every time, we have to flag down someone to take our order. Food is always on point, but the service sucks so bad. I should never have to sit for 30 minutes until my order is placed. Food should be delivered to a table of 3 as close to the same time as possible. Watching your group eat while you wait 30 minutes for your food is uncomfortable to say the least. "Enjoyed a medium roast cup of coffee. Good flavor. Also had the croissant sausage egg and cheese. Very good. Decent amount of seating. Plugs are a precious commodity so you may struggle plugging in if you can't find those spots. Staff were friendly and offered suggestions which I do appreciate. A member in our party got the cinnamon roll pancakes and those were a rival to anything at a breakfast chain. Large portion and looked delicious but very sweet!"

"I came to the shop like always I meet these two new young girl making ice-cream. I went to check the freezer for my Pints flavor I didn’t find it. I gently asked to make a new pint(chocolate monster) for me and they said no. We were arguing that the only make pints just in the morning so they couldn’t make it I was still trying to explain to them until one of other staff came and explain to them that they will that pints can be made at anytime of the day. I then now went to took the cookies and cream in the freezer this is what I got when I opened my pint at home nothing like the cookies and cream I always getI encourage them to double checked the lids and labels before putting in the freezer"

"I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS RESTAURANT! I love when I can make my food the way I want it to taste and with only the ingredients that I know I will eat. Call me picky, that's ok. I know I am. But this place makes it easy to be that way. Lol. I love the staff also. They are all super nice and very helpful. I have a Pork allergy and they are always accommodating to those needs. They make sure the grill is cleaned twice sometimes 3 times to make sure my food is not contaminated with a pork product. I tip them well for this. It is a great joy for me to see anyone take such pride in making sure their customers are happy. I will continue coming back to this restaurant and share the experience with as many as possible in the process."

"We went there for lunch today and had a great meal! We had the “Frips” with Cajun seasoning and cheese sauce for an appetizer. I had today’s special of Cheeseburger basket with added bacon and a side of cottage cheese. My husband had the French Dip with provolone cheese and a side of onion tanglers. Pros: Food was tasty. We plan on going again! The added bacon was not just a strip or two, it was like a bacon square so that every bite had bacon. I highly recommend the $1.25 up charge if you love bacon (I mean, who doesn’t?! I appreciated side options that weren’t just more fried food. They apparently have an amazing Taco Tuesday special that I’m excited to try out sometime. Cons: The Cajun seasoning on the Frips, while tasty, was sometimes so thick that it came off in clumps and got everywhere. The poor lady was manning the bar and waitressing two rooms and patio by herself. She was excellent but it would’ve been nice if she had some help. (Not food related For the men: Better hope you don’t have to go #2 (or that you’re not bashful about it! . There’s no separate stall from the urinals and no lock on the exterior bathroom door."
