"Excellent menu and daily specials. We had halibut, salmon, crab cakes amongst us; all were delicious and they allowed subs on the sides. Parker was as good as any waiter I have enjoyed in 60 years of social and business dining during extensive travel. One negative....they charge an exorbitant credit card fee so we used cash. Please, don't stoop so low at such a fine restaurant; build the charges into your costs at the cost incurred rather than padding the bottom line."

"Disappointing. We were told Stonewalls was the place in Banner Elk to get a good steak. Unfortunately my husbands ribeye $35) was anything but good. The steak was so gristly, every bite was not worth fighting to get it chewed besides more fat than expected. We called our waitress Hope over to tell her how bad the steak was. She then said she had to speak to the manager Scott. She came back telling us he said all the steaks have the gristle. We told her the whole steak was unedible. She went back to the manager Scott and he came to our table . I was done with my dinner so he said he could bring a slice of prime rib. The slice he brought could not have been 4 oz, if that. The check still had the $35 charge for the ribeye that was sent back , we asked why wasn’t the bill reduced to show the less expensive meal. We had to ask to see Scott again and tell him why are we paying for something we didn’t get. He wasn’t very friendly but lowered the price to a 10 oz prime rib $28) the piece of prime rib was smaller than their least expensive 6oz $25) . Certainly not the actions of a good manager. We do have to say that Hope was an excellent server. And meal wasn’t a total loss as the fried deviled eggs , French onion soup and lobster bisque were good. The salad bar was fine. The mashed sweet potato and brussel sprouts were ok. Needless to say we do not feel the need to return to Stonewall in the future. "No no no no no no no. I can't tell you how the good food is if you order and eat in the restaurant but with the large group of 12 that we had there were not any accommodating tables so we did takeout. I have never seen food prepared and thrown into silver take out trays that tasted so disgusting in my life. Again maybe it was because we took it out and there wasn't as much care given as there was no fear the food would be returned to the kitchen. It's been a year later and we still have never returned and probably will not."

"The service is fantastic. The food is mediocre at best, but they charge as though it is great. If the prices aligned with the quality of the food, I'd have given them another star. It was a disappointing experience for my entire family... Then, they substantially overcharged my card for more than twice the correct amount, which did get sorted out but not until the next day. $103 for three people for dinner and an appetizer. No alcohol. Not a bad price for GOOD Italian food, but it was just okay."

"Wow..just wow!! Where do I begin? I have been to every high end restaurant within the “high country” since I’ve been coming here to Boone/banner elk and this place is just perfect on every level. It was my birthday today so we came for dinner and the food, service and atmosphere was phenomenal"

"Fine dining depending on your definition. We booked a reservation to celebrate my husband's birthday on a Saturday evening. The menu looked fantastic so we were excited to try it. We arrived about 15 min early, but then waited quite a while past our reservation time for a table. Meanwhile, we sat in the lobby and could hear their live singer, along with a quite rowdy crowd. Don't get me wrong the singer is quite talented. But the others participating in the drunk singalong? not so much. It was too loud in the lobby to hear conversation and it would have been impossible to enjoy our meal as a family in the wedding reception with people we don't know vibe. After the long wait for our table, we asked the hostess to please seat us in Sorrento's which she did (it was almost 9pm before we got drinks. Grateful for the Italian comfort food but it was not the fine dining experience I had hoped for on my husband's birthday."

"We went to Barras and my friends had 4 they believed was 3 drinks from Großmarnier they charge 125.00 I had 2 I got the fee 62.41The battle of Großmarnier is it 38.00 dollars yes we ask double shot, I search in few bars around also internet and I find out in some places double shot are 12.00 dollars 6 dollars a shot the most expensive 8.00 dollars a double shot 16 dollars again, these people charge us 14.00 dollars for"

"Long wait for little to no service by the time you get the food it 's ok. Definitely not worth the price or the time waiting. We had breakfast and tried to get dinner. Breakfast the power went out and instead of calculating our bill with another station like other waitress, ours had us calculate it. And then we were also asked to pay cash. Since she refused to use the other machine the other waitress used. Then she basically started turning poeple away at the door telling them they would have to pay cash. The food was good and we were glad we got it before the power went out. Dinner was another disaster, we waited 30 mins to be sat at a table in the run way as I call it since all the waiters had to go past our table into the other rooms. Mind you the table was open the whole time we waited for a table. When we asked to be moved to a different table we were told that we would have to restart in the que of waiting. After waiting another 30mins without being seated and plenty of other nicer tables opening up and not being fill we went to another local restaurant and were able to seat right away at their much nicer bar and get excellent service. The whole time never getting a second message stating a table would be ready for us. Both meals we never saw management once. Both me and my husband will never be back here and we wouldn 't recommend it to anyone. Unless they have a magical turn over or make over of whatever management system they have going on."

"We had a very nice dinner- Campanella pasta with chicken and ham was absolutely delicious! KP Flounder with rustic veggies was also exceptional. The wait staff were friendly, efficient and well coordinated to wherever it was needed. I give a 4 and not a 5 because the drinks are overpriced. A blackberry old fashion(from their drink menu, no prices) was $26! We have had dinner in some high end places and never paid that price! Two drinks and we bought that whole bottle of bourbon for the restaurant. Just saying buyer beware if you order drinks. Would return but will not be having alcohol."

"My wife and I stopped here for dinner after riding the Blue Ridge Parkway. Chance was our waiter, and he was better than average. I ordered a sampler plate with greenbeans and fried okra. The meat was room temperature at best, the fried okra was not even warm; however the greenbeans were hot. My wife ordered the brisket plate with collard greens and fries. Her whole plate was not even warm. Chance stopped at our table and asked if everything was good and my wife shared with him that her food was cold; especially the french fries. He apologized and immediately brought her out another plate and asked her if she could feel them to see if they were any better and they weren't. He again apologized and he then brought out a basket of fries that were hot! He was apologetic but it wasn't his fault. The table we were sitting at gave us a view of the kitchen and there were several guys and gals standing around. One of the guys appeared to be eating food and another guy thought he was being sly while he was vaping but we saw him several times. This was our second try for this restaurant not sure we will return. Parking: Plenty of parking spots plenty of handicapped spots."

"Like any restaurant this one has its pros and cons. At times it’s crowded thus long wait. It’s small inside. Parking is tight. But: awesome BLT get the double fur $1 more! Fried squash! Where else can you get that? We had 10 in our group and the service was top notch! And the best sweet tea in the area!!! I do think $3.50 for any side is too much though. Fries, tots, etc just not worth that. Hope they consider a sandwich, side, drink combo deal and I’d come back more often."

"We went in at 10:50 and ordered. I ordered from a section that appeared to be an all day menu because it didn't show a cut-off/start time. Shortly thereafter, the waitress said that they would not make our food until 11 am. Not a bad wait, so we said ok. She came back after 11 am with more excuses. At 11:30ish, I noticed people with lunch type food. She said, yeah, they ordered from the kitchen that opened at 11. What???????? She grew frustrated, told me that she would comp my food and conversation was over. She also never brought cream for coffee or refilled it. And there were multiple waiters at a no so busy dining room on a Monday morning. Thank goodness she comped my food, because it looks disgusting and it's going in the trash."

"Nice restaurant in the Banner Elk area in NC mountains. This place has multiple rooms with each room a different theme. One is a romantic, more formal room, next is a wine room, one is a tasting room and one is a Bistro style room where we eat. Menu in all rooms are the same except for the tasting room. We went with two options, the calamari salad and I went with the Chicken Parmigian over veggies. August, our waiter was extremely attentive, and the manager Felton kept checking to make sure all was going well. The food was good and fresh. Was it the best I have had? No, however, for a place up in the mountains with such a great menu, wine list, and service, this place gets 5 stars from me. I think my wife would have asked for the calamari sautéed. but it came fried, and we went with it. nice and fresh! One thing I missed was the outdoor seating option, which we skipped as these FL folks were too cold. "The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! Our server, Nancy, was a wonderful hostess. She provided great recommendations, accommodated my request to make my meal extra spicy, and even brought extra chilis for added heat. Everyone in my group had a fantastic time and enjoyed the sushi. This restaurant has a family-friendly atmosphere and has been in business for over twenty years, now run by its fourth generation. I would give it a perfect 10/10 rating!"

"I love this place! The food is so fresh and tasteful. The trout entree is srumptious, like the albacore tuna sandwich. Ruben is also a favorite. But my favorite piece on the menu is the potato salad. I always get some containers to go home. Regarding the service, it is excellent! I don't know what these other people are talking about who left the owner bad reviews. She is very friendly and nice, very attentive and a very helpful person! Look at Eat Crow when you're in the area!"

"I like this chain of grocery stores. They always have the newest products for us to purchase. When I last went, I only bought from the bakery. I didn't get the lady's name that assisted me but she was super nice. I bought a cookie/brownie! It was absolutely delicious!!! I was told to eat it all together because it is made with just the right amount of everything. And she was right! I enjoyed those big bites! It was so good that I wouldn't allow myself to eat it all at once. I savored every last bite. For me the store is out of my way to get but I will be driving just to get another chocolate chip cookie/brownie! If you're a brownie, carmel, chocolate chip, or cookie person, I know that you will love this! And you will have a new habit, cookie/brownies! They even put it in a cute little box to maybe give to a love one or simply give it to yourself. Enjoy this little secret!!!"
