"I have lived in Calgary 20+ years and I have never been to Villa Firenze. Why? I'm asking myself that same question since having a beautiful dinner there over the weekend for my birthday. This place is the real deal for Italian food and service....There were three of us, all ordering different dishes: Chicken, veal, and pasta with prawns.They were all delicious. You also get a generous portion of veggies which are steamed but not soft (in fact, they come to you with a bit of crunch). The foccaccia bread you get prior to your meal is insanely good (dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar the best). We started off with a special appetizer portobello mushroom in a parmesan sauce with parmesan cheese on top melted in our mouths. I will be back, that much I can guarantee. A completely delightful evening!"

"Been curious about this place for the longest time though my schedule has often been in conflict with its hours. Suffice to say, I think it was finally worth it when I did get to try their Japa Rice Burger. Definitely not what you'd expect from a rice ball, and it also helps that you got a decently flavored burger patty and real cheese inside it.Definitely worth stopping by for a quick lunch. In fact, my only criticism (though likely a skill issue on my end) is that the exterior doesn't really stand out"

"quint place for a nice dinner. service was really good. Drinks and appetizers were perfect. 1 suggestions for the server: let new customers know that the supplements can easily be divided between 2-3 people. it would have been appreciated if he had let us know when we ordered it was sad to throw out so many courts because it was too much. all 4 of us had steaks 2 were boiled when asked that one of the middle rare was overcooked and the well made was burned on the outside. not so much, but this is a review."

"This is a place that could be easy to overlook given it’s unassuming location. Once inside you will feel the difference as the decor is simple and bright, creating a light pleasant atmosphere with an Andean flair. The slide show on the HD tv is...pretty to watch. The menu is well laid out with the dishes explained – the quartet of young ladies (especially Abril) serving were attentive and willing to answer any queries. A lot of tables were reserved as it is not a large place. This is not a fast food place but a good food place and the little wait you might have is certainly worth it when the food arrives. The Anticuchos (beef hearts) was a good indicator of what was to follow. Tender skewers with a very good dipping sauce called Pio Green. The Yucca fries were light and golden with a buttery pepper sauce called Pio Yellow. The Andean chicken salad was fresh, colourful and more than adequate in size. The Pescado Frito (fried fish) was as delicious as it look having been filleted and fried in a crisp thin batter which did not mask the fish. LOMO A LO POBRE – This is sort of a AAA beef stir fry with veggies, rice, fries, a fried egg and sweet plantains (similar to a banana). Not sure why plantains as the rest of this spicy (requested) dish works well together and was more than ample in size for anyone and this was the regular size. TACU SALTADO – Similar AAA beef stir fry style dish with tomatoes, onions and more of a rice and bean combination. Very flavourful though medium was a little bland for my tastes when I tried it. Ordered a couple of desserts just to see the picarones and the tres leches. Tip – order the picarones early, unless you are not in a rush, as they do take 15 mins to make as they are done fresh. PICARONES Never had Sweet potato donuts before so did not know what to expect. Definitely needs the sweet sauce as a little bland on their own. But together will satisfy most sweet tooth cravings. TRES LECHES – A light fluffy dessert made with 3 different types of milk and decorated with cream and strawberries. Delicate and delicious is easiest way to describe this. Great with a coffee. Would skip the pop though as it was flat and a tasted on the cheap side – not sure what cola products they are using. Other drinks were good and the bar has a wide selection – Chicha morada looks a good option for next time. This is not a cheap place but a good place where you can get different dishes that allow you to see a different world of food in a relaxed atmosphere. A world that has plenty to offer for another visit or two…."

I brought a friend to her birthday, something I had planned for a few years since I was in her restaurant and wanted to bring her to a special celebration. when we came to the restaurant, there was a statement that was pulverized on the door over the closed area because of some heating problems. there was no advance warning sent out. Of course it was extremely disappointing and above all because they are not a place I would expect. as I said, I was already in her restaurant and had loved the place, but this recent experience was very discouraging. "I have placed many online reviews on various pages for years. I'd call myself a real eater, more familiar. my reviews are more critical than john gilcrist, a retired calgqry restaurant reviewer that I admire deeply. each restaurant has dishes that some love and other people don't like it. I will share my 10/10 meal at niko’s. it begins with sparkling water, followed by half a liter Australian shiraz wein. the appetizer is calamari all’inferno. that is the best calamari they will cost everywhere. it is lightly spicy, so be sure to press the lemon over it. the main course is spaghettini aglio e olio with Italian sausage and freshly ground pfeffer to its taste. Oh, my God! the taste will explode in your mouth. our waitress has served us many times, and her name is ivana. she's lovely. always professional, cordial and aware their necessity for private sphere or engagement. I would like to hear others tell me about their 10/10 experience. there are few restaurants in the world that have really delivered a 10/10, and this combination of eating and drinking with ivana is one of them."

"I visited here to grab food before attending Mozart's Requiem on May 14 by the marvellous Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and Karl Hirzer. And I am glad that I made this decision.Food tasted great, and I was happy to say I enjoyed something i wouldn't experience otherwise. I usually ask the server what food I should get if I want to experience something that's unique to this restaurant. I also ask which appetizer goes along with whatever food I chose to go with. The server, Jeremy, was knowledgeable, and answered every question I had with great care. Also, I had a chance to overhear the conversation between Jeremy and the table next to me who had dietary restrictions (allergies). Jeremy was super-attentive, cautious, and patient enough to check everything with the kitchen to ensure they get the best experience there. I could tell that this restaurant goes above and beyond in terms of service.I specifically asked the server his name because I wanted to say positive things about my experience. If I am visiting Calgary again (hopefully for another marvellous concert by the Calgary Philharmonic), I would not hesitate to visit here again!"

"Posto's is much more than just another pizza restaurant. They offer a full compliment of excellent tasty appetizers, exceptional pizza, and delicious desserts. We shared their appetizer for perogies stuffed with gorgonzola, fig, and rosemary. The flavors of this left us tempted to order another...round, but we saved our appetites for the pizza. My wife and each ordered our own personal pizza. She got the spinach, shallot, garlic, wild mushroom, grana padano pizza and I got the prosciutto, fior di latte, arugula, grana padano pizza. The crust, sauces, meats, and the rest left us wanting more. We would have done dessert, but were too full from all the great food. Instead, Posto's helped us end our perfect meal with a couple complimentary pieces of their caramel chocolate. The service and food were fabulous and the offering of indoor as well as outdoor cafe style dining made it all a wonderful surprise we will return to again soon."

"we went on a Saturday night at 6:30. it was the perfect time to go. lillian was our waitress. she gave us a great service, was very attentive, and we really enjoyed her bubble personality. the food was delicious and plentiful, the carvers were practically laid on just to serve us. the beverages were also delicious, I had the Brazilian sunrise. would definitely recommend."

"we loved eating in the vin room west since they opened. they have an almost incomparable wine list that was curated by the owner mentally. the flights of wein and beer are a fun opportunity to experience the wide range of wein and beer. the vin room offers. in the course of the years the menu has changed, but eating is always thoughtful and fresh. we were happy to see recently some changes on the menu that contains angry kartoffels with grease and the new auberginen tonkatsu boiled. vin room 's happy hour could be the best worth in calgary. we love the charcuterie board and hummus, but recommend to avoid the pasta pomodoro, as taste in the tomato sauce was missing. we would like to see that a part of the menu vin room happy hour the mission in the west happy hour menu and a gourmet bread potato (poutine? the offer during the happy hour would be welcome! the new desserts contain a gluten-free chocolate cake, but we found it dry and crispy. Hopefully, the restaurant will replace it with another chocolate dessert, which corresponds to the quality of the remaining menu. we did not try out the new lemon olive oil cake, but we appreciate the urgently necessary changes in the Dessert menu. the restaurant is located directly on the 85th street, but there is a terrace that is pleasant in summer so that you can enjoy with your canine friends! we love the ambiente in vin room west. it is classic, uplifted and always radio clean. it is one of the few restaurants that we have visited frequently, which does not bombard guests with annoying. we can with our engaged and family without competitive with loud music and bad restaurant acoustics. staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the drink and food card. vin room offers a much needed upscale dining room experience in calgary’s distant western suburbs."

"Tuesdays is an excuse to visit Earls patio when the have both happy hour specials and half price wine bottles. We ordered the hot chicken wings made in the forno oven. They are less fatty that way. These were served with a dairy allergy friendly...dip for the celery. We followed with a garlic chicken chaser salad and a garlic chicken burger. We continue to stay away from Earls beef burgers as they are so overcooked as to be inedible. The chicken is much better. As usual the server was friendly and reasonably attentive."
