"I absolutely cannot understand why Bartaco has scored 3.5 stars. This place is amazing, and without a doubt it is a 5 of me. I read the folk reviews, and I think her problem was not the right concept to get. In addition, 'Mexicon' in a branch type can be a little misleading for some too, as people expect this MASSIVE Burritos and Chimichangas and stuff, but this place is not about it. Bartaco is located at the corner of the huge plaza, away from the shops. Even if they share the parking lot, there is plenty of space, no worries about it. The place is relatively new, as well as the building, so it is beautiful both inside and outside. I like the interior design with the high ceilings and the plants that hang from it everywhere. I also liked the way bar area is designed with these transparent head shelves and fresh juice presses around them. Service was very good, Hostess told us that there was a 20-min wait on the table (Monday Night), but the bar still had some spots, so we went there. I even liked it better, cuz I could see kitchen on my left, bartenders were always before me (if I needed something) and it was easier to see the whole place from there. Bartender explained how everything was set up, went through the menu and was super attentive. The food seems to be Bartaco's greatest advantage for me. Yes, these tacos are not the size of those you order in your local taqueria, BUT! so small, you can make it through the whole list and still have space for dessert. I had a hard day and was really hungry (Barkeeper usually told me it's about 3-4 tacos per person), so ended with 7 himself. All Tacos were unique to me, each one had its own character. For example, Falafil sorta tzatziki had sauce, Tuna was made on the salad leaf (with some excellent sauce) and Cauliflower was somehow cooked to perfection (even if I didn't get his secret, it was my personal fav). Oh and her homemade salsas, there were 3 of them on the table (Roja, Jalapeno and Habanero) and they tasted only Mmmmm.... Now pricing, with small plates and fees a bit per each can look tricky, but I'd rather overpay order bit by bit than something huge without ending it. In addition, there is a chance to go over many more items on the menu. Check-in for two was about $75 that was somewhat above our personal average, but considering Deerfield and cities around as municipalities with slightly higher average income per head, that is absolutely normal. Checkmate for anyone who rated 3. And thank you if you made it to this point! p.s. There is no tap beer, cans and bottles only. You don't accept apple money."
