"I was really impressed my first time out. The pork ribs were perfectly cooked and came off the bone easily. They maintained a really good smoke taste, not over the top, and not too much in the way of slathered-on crusty sauce. Their house sauce has a nice traditional Texas flavor with just a pinch of heat. The slaw is reminiscent of a slightly more refined KFC taste, something that suits my taste just fine. Some folks might like a pickled slaw, but this one is much more on the creamy sweet side. Lets talk about brisket! The brisket (I prefer mostly lean) was a solid contender against big name central Texas BBQ joints. It had a really nice smoke flavor, very tender, not too greasy. It paired really well against the sauce and pickles. The green beans, and I love me some, were not a big hit. It could have used some sweet onions and bacon to add depth and embellish the brisket. On the other hand, the ranch beans were solid, not the best, but I really appreciated the firmness of the beans. They were not overcooked, and maintained an almost beefy texture, really unique and something I will definitely go at again. Overall I give Railroad Bar-B-Que a 4.6 (that rounds to 5 stars). I've had much more expensive that was just not as tasty or unique, but there's also been a few that changed the game. For Railroad Bar-B-Que, they are solid and reliable; a good hometown BBQ taste that you can definitely enjoy over and over again."

"Wow! This spot is incredible. We are relatively new to the area. A neighbor recommended Epicure for a charcuterie platter for a friend. It was a last minute order and Jerry provided a platter that was beautiful and made us envious. This alone would have made us loyal customers. However, what happened next was incredible. We decided to order a charcuterie platter for the Fourth of July, for pick up on Friday July 2. Epicure was closing for a well deserved vacation on July 3, returning on July 9th. All good. Unfortunately our dog injured his paw on the 2d and in the process of attending to that, we forgot about the platter and did not pick it up. Let me be clear…this was entirely our fault. Jerry even left a reminder message about two hours before they closed. It wasn’t until the following morning that we remembered. Doh!We immediately called and emailed to apologize. On July 9th, when they reopened, my wife called to apologize and to pay for the forgotten platter. Here’s the amazing part. Yesterday, we received this e-mail from Jerry:“Hi, Sue. Just wanted to let you know that we aren’t going to charge you for food you didn’t get. I appreciate your willingness to make things right but we value our customers and want, more than anything else, lots of happy, satisfied guests. Please think of us the next time you need a cheese and charcuterie board or a bottle of wine! We also do to go foods at night from 5pm to 8pm!BestJerry at Epicure Market“We were stunned. You bet we will think of them in the future. Check out their website and go! This kind of customer service rarely exists anymore. We can’t wait to return. Thank you Jerry and everyone at Epicure Market!"

"I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the private tour at the Texas Hill Country Olive Company, and it was an absolute revelation. From start to finish, this tour was an immersive journey into the world of olive oil production and appreciation that left me utterly impressed. The tour began with a warm welcome from our knowledgeable guide, who expertly led us through the entire process of bottling their exquisite olive oil. It was fascinating to witness the meticulous care and dedication that goes into every bottle, from the grove to the final product. I gained a newfound appreciation for the art and science of olive oil production. But what truly set this tour apart was the exceptional educational component. Our guide delved deep into the history, cultivation, and health benefits of olive oil. I left with a wealth of knowledge, feeling like an olive oil connoisseur. The tastings were a highlight, allowing us to savor a range of their exceptional olive oils, each with its unique flavor profile. Paired with their personal label wines, the experience was simply divine. It was a sensory journey that left my taste buds dancing with delight. The extensive line of items in their store was a delightful surprise. From gourmet olive oils and balsamic vinegars to artisanal products and beautifully crafted olive wood utensils, there was something for every palate and preference. The opportunity to purchase these treasures made it the perfect outing for any food enthusiast. The private tour at the Texas Hill Country Olive Company is an absolute gem. It seamlessly blends education, culinary delight, and retail therapy in a beautiful setting. Whether you're a foodie, a wine lover, or simply curious about olive oil, this experience is a must. I left with a deep appreciation for olive oil, a full shopping bag, and a heart full of gratitude for this unforgettable journey into the world of olive oil."

"Awesome time here in the late afternoon hours. We had two waitresses, the second was awesome, answered questions and made recommendations. Sorry to not have gotten her name.We visited three different places like this on our trip on the Fitzhugh strip and this was definitely the favorite. Everything was so fresh! Wish it had been a bit cooler on our trip so we could have enjoyed the outside, or come on a night where we assume there is probably live music because there was a setup for it. Great atmosphere! The bbq sauce was the most unique and best we tasted during our visit, a peppery sweet and tangy sauce, great drinks, the tortilla chips were fantastic, best queso we had (if you don't like it super spicy, ask for not green sauce), my party raved about the tacos (I didn't try them) said they were the best they had had. The guac was fresh and had a nice lime flavor. The strawberry dessert was a nice treat on this hot day. They no longer do beer flights even though it is on the menu, so if that is what you want, just be aware. Also the Lady Bird soda has an artificial sweetener in it, I do wish it had said that on the menu because we had never even heard of this sweetener before and would have ordered something different. But overall this was an amazing time, would definitely come back if we are ever here again.Kid-friendliness: Not a great menu selection for kids other than the typical Mac and cheese, quesadilla, chips. Our child enjoyed dessert. In general, we found kid options hard to find in Texas.Parking: Try to park in the shade if you can, our car was so hot that I burnt my hand on the door handle. The Texas heat is no joke!"
