"This restaurant has been around for a long time. We stopped in for a late lunch while in the area and craving Japanese food. It seems like Yamaguchi in Port Washington may only be open for dinner now. We found the service and food to be just okay. The miso and onion soups that come with the sashimi were decent. However, after finishing our meal, we had to wait a long time for our bill, as if they had forgotten about us. Getting their attention was quite difficult. The handheld credit card machine was a nice touch, but we were surprised to see that the tip automatically starts at 18%. It was my first time there, and I felt uncomfortable changing it to less in front of the server. The use of disposable chopsticks also raised some concerns – when I took them out of the paper pouch, broke them apart, and wiped them on my red napkin, I noticed white marks. This made me question how sanitized the disposables are and whether they are truly safe for our health."
