"I read some mixed reviews on this place, but usually don’t take them seriously. I’m glad I didn’t listen to the haters on this one. This spot is clean, open, and airy. Great little patio section that’s mostly shaded, so there isn’t too much sun. Located in a shopping center next to the SpringHill Suites where I was staying, it was just a couple hundred feet away! They have a large selection of sushi and seafood of course, as well as a few high end steaks. I got the 16 ounce New York strip, which was prepared perfectly. With a steak cut as thick as this one, it’s always a concern if it is going to cook properly. It was the perfect medium that I asked for, with a wonderful sear. The red skinned mashed potatoes were a little bland, but I also failed to ask for salt and pepper. I’m sure that would have livened them up a little. Great grilled veggies on the side, not greasy. My pre-meal salad with balsamic was light and the perfect lead in. I had the regular mai tai, which I liked, but it was a little heavy for me. Not their fault, just my preference. Next time I’ll probably try something a little lighter like the cucumber martini or Japanese mule. They have a nice cocktail menu and a decent low to midlevel wine list. My server, Christian, was attentive and got my order perfectly. Perfect mix of helpful without being obtrusive (I was using dinner as a time to unwind and scroll, so I appreciated not feeling pressured or rushed). I’ve read a lot of the reviews, and the owner appears very active and involved, and really seems to care about the business and the customer experience. This is why I took a chance. And it worked out beautifully. My bill was a little under 80 dollars before tip. The steaks aren’t cheap, but are the appropriate price for what you’re getting. The cocktail I had was 13 dollars (I had two), and it was a large cocktail. I’ll definitely be back."
