"We ate outdoors. Our server, named Brie, was excellent. When we got chilly outside she helped us move to another location under a heat lamp. We had a lovely time."

"Ya Ya’s is one of my favorite places in JoCo., but this time was extremely disappointing. We arrived on time for our reservation and didn’t get seated for over a half hour. The bar was packed so we had to wait out front. We like to eat on their patio and have been there a number of times this summer. This night it was jammed with no social distancing. Our waiter was overwhelmed with tables and he was not able to provide the level of service you would expect. Once our food came two meals were not properly cooked. Salmon was extremely undercooked, even after being returned to be recooked. It seemed that no one was in charge and there was insufficient staffing. I hope they get these issues addressed"

"WOW! I had the bacon sausage with gravy and an egg over easy! Get the hot sauce on the side because it is hot! Excellent original restaurant. Looking forward to trying some of the wieners at home. Bought some bierocks to take home. My Wife had the classic dog and a salad. Very good. Oh my goodness the bierocks were fantastic . They even wrote the recommended cooking instructions on the package they turned out fantastic."

"The steaks ribeyes were some of the best I’ve had in a restaurant in quite a while. Good thickness, good marbling, cooked perfectly to medium rare. Seems easy but so many places get it wrong. The sides were great. We didn’t have anything left for the to go box, so that tells you something. This place is consistent and well run. Thanks for a great meal. We were seated in a reserve banquet room, so that’s my only beef. A little disconnected from the real ambiance of the place. But they were busy so good for them"

"We were looking for a place for lunch and decided to give Firebirds an attempt. We sat fast and Rose, our server, was right there to help us. Rose was very personal and made a fantastic job during our meal! Fresh bread was brought out, and while I'm not sure what it was, it was warmed and delicious. My husband and I ordered the Bacon Deviled Eggs as an appetizer. They tasted very fresh and creamy. The candied bacon and cut jalapeños made a beautiful sweet and spicy combo. I chose the perfect pair with the Firebirds Chicken Pasta and loaded baked potatoes. The chicken was nicely grilled, and the spicy Asiango added a nice kick. The potato was crumbling salt with the perfect amount of toppings, and not boiled under. My husband had the Cajun Ribeye, Chicken Tortilla soup, and loaded baked potato. Steak was cooked for perfection. It was possible to cut it with a fork and did not need the addition of the approxjun seasoned butter, although this was also delicious. The soup was nice and hot, with many creamy cheerful spoons. The tortilla strips gave him a nice crunch, and they weren't so tender. His potato was also well cooked. After we had such a good meal, we decided to leave everything and have the cream Brulee Cheesecake and 5 Layer Lemon Cake. That was a perfect end for our meal! The cheesecake had the nice crusty crust, and it just melts in the mouth. The taste was not excessively sweet, which can be the disadvantage of some cheesecakes. The lemon cake was also a delicious treat. It can be hard to disguise a lemon cake, between tart and too sweet, but this cake was on... my husband almost wouldn't share lol! I know good employees can find hard this day and age, but our experience with Firebirds was excellent! All staff were friendly, the food was well prepared, and it was a very pleasant meal for us! We will definitely try some of the other delicious sounding dishes on the menu again!"

"Date night here on a Sunday evening. We got a booth in the corner so we had privacy to talk. Our server made a good recommendation on the appetizer and it promptly arrived. Our main course came at just the right time and was piping hot so we knew it was fresh. Portions were HUGE so be ready to take some home. We didn't have room for desser but we got the carrot cake to go."

"We came here on 10/30/21 around 8:10pm Our second time here in the last year and a birthday celebration Our server was Nick A very pleasant individual the food was delicious I highly recommend the lamb The bread taste amazing and the calamari is pretty good with the sour sauce So happy they don?t serve the calamari with marinara here! They also let us swap out our birthday dessert for something other than was listed on the card The smoked old fashioned was fabulous as always and one of the main reasons we came here again This time it was served already made and the second round came out with a corked smoke bottle unlike the first round sadly a little less of a presentation that the prior year when it had the glass dome over it but still tasted great the only minor issue was they stopped taking drink orders at 9:15 but do not close until 10 there was no warning on the early discontinuation of drinks either. Overall still a great place to eat and very relaxing atmosphere highly recommend"

"My wife and I were looking forward to a special dinner with out of town guests...our first opportunity to sample the food at Pad Thai after reading so many positive reviews. Now that I have dined there, I can honestly say that I feel as though we must have eaten at a completely different restaurant than other reviewers for our experience was poor. It began with the hostess being unable to find our reservation...we were eventually seated. We did not see a waitress for the first 30 minutes we were there. Finally, the bartender/hostess came over and took our drink and appetizer order. Nearly an hour passed before our waitress finally showed up. The drinks were tepid and did not taste as though they contained any alcohol (the consensus at our table). The appetizers, however, were good (Tiger Cry Beef and Soft Pork Spring Rolls). Three out of four people ordered some variation of Pad Thai, since it was the signature dish. Two of us ordered it hot. The pad thai would rank a 1 out of 5 on my scale overcooked, drenched in an overpowering sauce, and devoid of any heat (spice). Thai is our favorite food...and we 've eaten at dozens of Thai restaurants through the years. Pad Thai would rank pretty far down the list based on our recent experience. I do not enjoy giving a restaurant such a poor review. It 's a tough industry in which to survive. But poor food and non existent service will eventually catch up with you. I hope that the owners take these words to heart and ensure that other diners have a better dining experience."

"I made my first visit to Redrock Canyon Grill on Saturday, 26. November 2022 about 3PM. A group of my extended family, about twenty of us, were there for an early dinner. A reservation had been made and there was no delay when sitting. Our waiter came fast to take orders. Redrock is known for its Rotisserie chicken and we were sitting on their enclosed terrace area so we could see the chicken on the huge Rotisserie. The menu has a good choice. With twenty of us many menu items were ordered. After viewing the ribs, the pigs chops, the salmon and the chicken roasted chicken, I chose the rotisserie chicken. The Chicken Rotisserie was served half a chicken with potatoes and carrots. substitutions are allowed. The facility acts as a sports bar, as a hangout for friends or if you have the terrace, a great date point. The modern decor is my style. Waitstaff was helpful, but seemed overwhelmed. The service was fast and the orders were correct. The Rotisserie chicken was a little less damp than I expected and when I preferred it. The potatoes and carrots were perfect. I washed everything with a glass of pink lemonade. The lemonade was not too sweet as it is common in most restaurants. Although I'm usually a dessert, I skipped Dessert. The prices were something on the expensive side, but not terrible. Food, service and restaurant location was good. I'd eat and plan. There were so many other menu items I would like to try. I would recommend Redrock Canyon Grill without hesitation."

"Seven of us ate in the Jazz Room at the Gaslight Grill. A four piece Jazz Band played discreetly in the background, not interfering with conversation, yet providing a classy ambience. Eddie Djilali, the Executive Chef, trained with Gordan Ramsay for 12 years, and you can tell. The menu is small using fresh local ingredients all made from scratch. For Starters we tried the Caesar Salad, Turnip Soup and House Salad. The Turnip Soup was light and fresh tasting, not overly salty. We tried a Smoked Salmon imported from Scotland in especially refrigerated containers maintained at 33 degrees. The Salmon melted away in our mouths like custard. The main courses included Scallops that were tender and tasty served over a Truffle Sauce. The vegetarian among us had Creamy Leeks with Wild Mushroom Risotto that left a clean taste of creamy citrus. A meat eater had Louisiana Steak cooked in onions, mushrooms and a red wine reduction. Although not usually a big eater she cleaned her plate and declared it the best steak she had ever had. A couple of our fellow guest had Fish and Chips, (British style), again they found the fish to be fresh and perfectly cooked. We finished of with home made pastries and selected cheese. We all waddled out of the restaurant delighted to have found such a gem of a restaurant. Try it you will not be disappointed!"

"Service was great. Good atmosphere and the Prime Rib were quite solid. However, I ordered chicken pliers to go for a later meal, and these were absolutely the best chicken strips I ever had in my life. Just unrealistic. Excellent Bbq sauce too."

"I was there for some drinks and happy hour, but the service was excellent. We sat on the terrace on a very hot day, but as it is shaded and has fans, it was convenient. The sliders are delicious and the peace Mac and cheese was so good. Great drinks and fantastic atmosphere. Our server was great, he left us alone when we were in conversation, but regularly checked. He was funny and attentive."

"Tucked away in a strip mall, but the ambiance is wonderful and relaxing as you enter into the restaurant. The space extends into a bigger, airy side room that lets in natural light. Good for both the casual and semi-upscale dining experience. Can accommodate solo diners and groups. Love coming here for lunch meetings because it's calm enough to comfortably hold a conversation, and private enough to mostly avoid disturbing other guests.Over years of coming here, the staff remain attentive and pretty speedy, sometimes with a bit of wry humor mixed in. The food is always delicious and hearty! You can choose your spice/heat level, and for me Mild+ (just a hint of kick) is just right, but I've seen many dining companions sweat, sniffle, and still rave about it spicy dishes. Nice mix of dishes that can be made with meat, tofu, or vegetables. Lunch menu usually comes with soup or salad and modest crab rangoon. Prices can run a bit high, but for me the portions are large enough that I almost always leave with leftovers.Vegetarian options: Many dishes (various soups, stir fries, noodles and rice bases) have the option to be made with tofu as the protein, or choose a vegetable mix. I like requesting extra vegetables."

"When you see Burg Barrel online, you might think blue collar joint. Go to places across the country like Founding Fathers in Buffalo, Gooski's in Pittsburgh or the Green Lady lounge right here in KC and you will get old school places that have become Instagram cool, some by being who they are, others it is more manufactured. I'm not sure what Burg Barrel is. It seems to have a bit of a local crowd, but it also has the rust belt hipster crowd as well. However, what many of these places offer is an old school dining experience, something that is right up my alley. I didn't realize it until I pulled up, but I had been here before, around 10 years ago and I vaguely remembered it being good, so I had some expectations going in. I ordered the Smokehouse burger with a beer and my bill came out to around $28 with tax and tip. While they get a thumbs up for serving the Yuengling Hershey Porter (PA got to support PA) the burger itself was disappointing and perplexing at the same time. It was extremely greasy to the point it ate through the tomato and lettuce and dissolved the bottom bun, but biting into it, the burger itself was on the dry side. Not very good, without much flavor and required a knife and fork to eat. The fries were okay, but they tasted like fries you can get anywhere, including the frozen food aisle and the portion was on the small side. The service was okay, courteous but impersonal, considering for a while, I was the only one at the bar. Like in many bars, I noticed that the servers like talking more to themselves than with the customers. In a recent review, I raved about the service I got from Atomic Cowboy down the street, B B could learn a bit from them. In 2015-2016 when I was here last, this area was pretty bare and choices were slim. Now, with the resurgence of downtown OP, there are many choices and places have to up their game."
