"This one was tough for me. If you look at my star distribution, I love giving love to local businesses. We came here one day after a UCF football game, figured it would be fun to pick up some poke on the way home and watch a movie while eating it. But Island Fin Poke made it very difficult for us, I 'm sorry to say. We made sure we utilized the order ahead feature that they offer on their website, and we even gave them some lack in the ETA, but when we arrived, the workers, and maybe a manager lounging about in the dining room, were completely unaware of a mobile order. So they had to start from scratch. Adding to the frustration, they were out of two of the proteins we were trying to order, even though they were non-upcharge proteins, and even though the online ordering system did not say they were out of stock of these proteins. Some pros of this place include their simplicity. I like that they don 't have too many toppings to choose from. Too many toppings can really muddle a poke bowl and draw attention away from the star of the show, the fresh seafood. Fresh veg, some crunchy things on top, a good sauce, and that 's all you need. This place gets that. I will warn you, the Sweet Onions and the OG Veggies (Sweet onions and jalapenos that marinate in gluten-free soy sauce, sesame oil, olive oil, and rice vinegar for 24 hours) are both very overwhelming flavors, and they will overtake your bowl. If that worries you, skip these. If you 're not concerned, I would still maybe ask for light amounts of these. So overall, the seafood was good, super fresh tasting, and they cut it up into big hunks so you really get that good fresh seafood texture. And the amount of crunchy toppings they offer is good, mixing with that good seafood texture and making it more fun and appealing. I was a fan of this.Just every other aspect of the visit was as the three stars is labeled, OK. Hopefully I can come back one day and get evidence that this experience was a one-off mistake."
