"So I don’t typically leave reviews of restaurants after eating there but I felt like I had to for this one! I was reading many of the reviews when they were a Mexican restaurant and many where not favorable. However, now that they have switched it up to BBQ they are killing it!! I am a bit of a BBQ enthusiast and I know good BBQ when I have it and have had many that are mediocre at best (including some of my own). I was quite surprised to see a 1000 gallon pit rolling smoke in a coastal town that is known for lobster so I had to check it out. I had a great chat with the pit master and he was happy to show me around his pit. We ordered the brisket, ribs and pulled pork with sides of Mac cheese, baked beans, cole slaw and cornbread. The brisket was cooked perfectly! It passed the pull test and the bend test and was seasoned very well! The pulled pork was also great although I prefer mine not sauced. Didn’t take away from the great Smokey flavor though, I just like mine with a little of the rendered juices for flavor. The ribs were also cooked well. Had to tug just a little to pull away from the bone (the way ribs should be)! The sides were good but really the star of the show should be the meats and they were amazing! So if you haven’t been there since they changed it over to BBQ do yourself a favor and stop again if you like good authentic Texas style BBQ. And if you don’t know what good authentic Texas style BBQ is, he’s got it going on! Oh and the sauces (while not needed) where also very good. We had the mustard based sauce and the regular BBQ sauce. Both very tasty. Congrats to you guys for switching it up and making a great product. It was a very nice surprise in a Maine coastal town!!"
