"They have quite a variety of meat substitute items on the menu (fake beef, chicken, fish and pulled-pork). This was our first time there and we had a tasty hamburger which was surprisingly like the real thing, served on a whole wheat bun. I was impressed that all the paper and plastic products were biodegradable. They only have a few small indoor tables, no outdoor options, but there is a drive-through. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 star rating is because it is a fast food place serving some non-healthy choices, like the french fries (which, by the way, were delicious). However, if you want to splurge and eat some old-fashioned fast food, but keep it vegan, this is the best place in San Marcos to do that. Just remember they are closed on Saturdays. "I've been to Mama Kat's many times, but only eaten three times here due to the wait time to be seated (hence the 4 stars). Not sure what would be the solution to less wait time, but even as good as they are I can't wait over an hour!!! I want to enjoy my weekend and not waist time waiting around nor stressing over finding a parking spot. Alright, enough of that! The food has been wonderful. First time I ever went, my friends and I ordered multiple dishes to try and most were a 9/10. I felt in love with a Coffee/Mexican hot chocolate mixed drink that was amazing! I do wish I could enjoy this restaurant more often, but I am not willing to loose my precious time waiting."

"I really enjoy the burgers here, always hot, fresh, and tasty. My husband really favors the Sm (6" Philly Cheesesteak. He tried it once, and now is one of his go-to choices when we get fat shack. My son also mentioned that the shakes are the best here. He got chocolate and added Reeces cups."

"I was extremely disappointed by our experience at this restaurant last night, and I'm certain other customers felt the same way as many walked out. There was only one overwhelmed staff member working the front, who appeared exhausted and lacked assistance. A manager reprimanded him for a mistake in an order, despite him also having to handle the register, attend to drink refills in the back (due to a broken soda machine on the floor), shuttle between bagging orders and deliveries, and continue taking all incoming orders. He was clearly overworked, while the manager who scolded him disappeared and did not help. Our order was incomplete, we had to request our drinks, and as the lone staff member made them, a line formed toward the door with some customers leaving. The restaurant was dirty and understaffed. Perhaps it would have been better to close the dining area and focus solely on the drive-thru, which seemed to be the only area functioning smoothly."

I have to try her laugh at my next visit. the beautiful plants on their terrace were a nice welcoming note. overall, good visit. "First time here: I had a burger and fries with a drink No big deal there. But the fries are very nicely seasoned. And they serve a buttermilk dipping sauce that is just perfect with those fries! So perfect in fact that it's addicting eating those fries! I could not stop dipping and eating those fries!!If you're a french fry fan like I am and you enjoy a good buttermilk dipping sauce, you will love the Money Pit!"

Speaking of support for small businesses, Cathie?s Scrapbook lead us to Debbie?s Restaurant Pie Shoppe this month. While clear their cakes are a focal point for them, they also serve breakfast and lunch (but they close at 15:00 every day). We have sampled a slice of the Dutch apple crunch (a bit of ice on the side). Although it was pretty good, we think the drawing here is actually the people. We found all 3 employees we interacted with during our visit to be friendly and willing to engage in our conversations and share some laughter with us. If you can visit until December 11, you should be sure to contribute to their 13th annual PJ fishing? Program. We may have officially entered the holiday season, but collecting Pyjamas for needy children affected by personal hardship and/or homelessness is a worthy effort that we support regardless of the season. "This was our 2nd visit and we will be back again. Super service, very pleasant and really good at what they do. Nice clean place, with a great back patio. Has picnic tables, Adirondack chairs around a fire pit, umbrellas over the picnic tables. The brisket was yum, as was the pork ribs. The sausage was fine, just not as flavorful as husband and kids would have liked. Really good mac n cheese, green beans potato salad. Last time I tried the twice baked potatoes salad and really enjoyed it. Forgive my photos. We were hungry and forgot until it was nearly half finished! Lol"

"We stopped at blue Dahlia bistro on a Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. and we had a delicious breakfast with a wonderful prickly pear mimosa. My husband loved the waffles and his breakfast sandwich. I ordered the Parisian sandwich with avocado and it was very good the bread was the perfect amount of chewy and crunchy. The service was very very nice and friendly and prompt. I felt safe when it comes to covid protocols. The patio is a sweet little area that allows dogs that even supplies dog bowls. Overall, this was a wonderful breakfast and I would recommend it to my friends and definitely visit again in the future. My son enjoyed the hot chocolate. Fresh berries were a plus also."

"This particular review is for the San Marcos, Texas location: My wife tricked me into the truck under the lure of beer and dinner. Little did I know that she was heading for the outlet mall in San Marcos. Have you ever seen the old men sitting in the chairs at the mall and just staring at each other? I wasn't gonna be one of those guys. Once I realized her devious plan, I quickly hopped on Yelp! to construct a counter-assault. Outback Steakhouse sits dead center in this outdoor mall battleground, so it wasn't terribly hard to convince her to drop me off while she tactically cleared all of the stores on a door-to-door frontal assault. I sat at the bar (duh) and was quickly greeted by one of the Bartenders, Makenzie. Swamped already even prior to my arrival, she was directing her bar backs and other bartenders like a conductor trying to find the perfect balance between the brass and the woodwinds. Upon arrival of my wife, several hundred dollars later, I settled for the bone-in ribeye, cooked medium, with a loaded baked potato and brussel sprouts as the sides. The steak was not quite as thick as you'd expect for a bone-in, but was absolutely cooked to perfection. The loaded baked potato was horrible (think, cooked last week and re-heated), but the brussel sprouts...oh those sprouts! Be still my heart. Baked potato be damned, those sprouts made it for it. I took a photo, but only after I had massacred those things halfway. Apologies for sub-standard photography, but I was about seven beers in and didn't want to put down my fork. An overall pretty decent experience. One potato away from a five star review!"

"We usually get food to go from here, but decided to sit down and have lunch last week. We ordered three rolls and a side salad. The side salad came out first, browned iceberg with some carrot shaving and watered down mayonnaise dressing, weird but not awful I guess? Our rolls came out, two of them were inedible, the fish was going bad and there had obviously been an attempt to cover that up by adding something incredibly salty (maybe just salt?? . The third roll was ok, except for my husbands last bite. I said something since bad fish is a massive health concern. They took 20% off our bill. I still tipped accordingly, so $52 later we had a single ok sushi roll. We supported this business through the pandemic, but unfortunately that will be our last visit. Mistakes happen, but the policy should be to own up to them, not ask your patrons to pay for spoiled food. I'm sorry, for 80% of the spoiled food."

"I ordered to go through DoorDash and decided to get a new place. Oh, boy, I'm happy about this choice! The reels were amazing, the fish from this place just tastes different, so fresh and tasteful, tastes in your mouth. Poki Poki Salad is 12.95, this place offers Poke Salat for $13, but the quality is 2x better. The lemon rolls fresh from the world. I will visit this place personally. Even my 5 years old son gave his sushi a thumb!"

"Fantastic little sushi shop across the street from campus. The bento box lunch special is a wonderful deal, and I was blown away by how tasty the pork chashu was. Wonderful, cozy atmosphere (only complaint was slightly uncomfortable chairs) and attentive service. So excited for my next opportunity to eat here again!"
