"If you find yourself in the Chinese Gardens at the Huntington Library and you're starving, this is your only option unless you want to hike to the other side of the property to the new Cafe (which I highly encourage you to do rather than eat here). You line up and order then wait for them to present it to you on a tray at which point you wander outside to find a place to sit and eat. Depending on your timing you could spend half an hour waiting in line to order or walk right up. The tables were not being bussed by anyone and they were all dirty and most had plates or bowls left on them from the previous diners. So you had to bus a table in order to sit and eat. Unfortunately a paper napkin does a lousy job of wiping down a table it simply smears the sauces and grease. The tables were disgusting. I ordered the sweet and sour pork dish which came with a scoop of white rice. The pork was okay but a bit fatty and chewy. There were 3 or 4 pieces of pineapple, onion and pepper mixed in. A very small serving of food for the price. I do think the sweet and sour sauce was great though. I also got a winter melon pastry which was very flakey (but in a dry way) and flavorless a big disappointment. I learned my lesson: Don't be lazy, walk toward the main entrance of the Huntington and eat at the Cafe! Note: this is one of those multi listed yelp listings and many more reviews can be found at Huntington Library Chinese Garden Tea House."
