All made from scratch—pasta, bread, etc. One of the best restaurants I have been to. Nice ambiance. Good service. The food was the star. I can’t say enough positives about the food. 5 stars. I would highly recommend to anyone. I can’t wait to return and try more dishes!"

"eating here is absolutely delicious! fresh, tasteful and always consistent. but more than eating is the incredible service. we stay in the upham once in the year for a horse show and they remind us, all five of us at the moment we get in. if they have the chance to eat here, they do not skip the banana louis. it is one of the best desserts, simple, but amazing, and have I mentioned the root beer boat? can't wait to go back!"

"Think twice before you order sharp shrimp pasta. It was very sharp. I love spicy food, but so much spice in pasta made me sweat. Seafood Pasta is also on average there is no special sauce in it. Everything was average for us. Very patient employees"

"The service was terrible. I came with a group of 4 on Saturday at 3 p.m. for their happy hour, which is clearly stated on their website. I showed it to the cashier and she told me that she was no longer happy hour on Saturday at 3. Then the manager asked me what website I saw, and I told her it was her website, and she didn't seem to have believed me as I showed it to the cashier because she asked me further! Instead of apologising and giving us a good hour's price for a drink or two, they were rude about it. Cool. We ordered anyway and their warehouse didn't come out of the machine, so we ordered another beer and then their warehouse machine decided to work again. Finally, we were told that we cannot order food because we had no table?. But we waited for a table and of course, as soon as we ordered drinks, we got a table and had to go straight back to the line to order food. Please tell people that before they get in for dinner. Why don't you just give us our order and bring the food to the table we wanted? Food took forever. Would it? ve saved all time. We couldn't use a seat outside the bar area, so I don't know. There were at least 5 tables empty. 2 stars to give because their tri-tip was good, but clearly their employees need to get it together"

"Great food, been going here since they opened. The tortilla change was unfortunate (they used to make them homemade). The biggest issue is the service, they hired an abosulte horrific cashier girl that is expressionless and sucks your energy away. Not friendly at all, someone you really don’t want to interact with. Possibly the worst service by a single individual I have eveer experienced. The owners daughter however is a lot nicer and also works as the cashier. They need to axe the new cashier, until then I just turn around if she is working!"

"I set up a birthday party at the Jane Restaurant in Santa Barbara. The event coordinator, Meagan, gave a great guide with quick answers about all foods and setting up options. We had 21 people in a reserved room. The curtains to the room were retracted as we went to the top of the stairs, which is a surprise! What can I say it was a lot of fun! We chose one of the 3 course fixed meals that had three main course choices, and I received excellent comments on all foods. I was concerned about the service we were up there, but the staff did an excellent job, and I did not notice any delays. Not a big wine drinker, I had recommended her a good selection and they were all wonderful. Just a note about alcohol? Since it was Memorial Day Weekend to find a place, there was a little choir. This is a smaller restaurant with excellent food and service. They solved many of my problems with good advice during a time when I had difficulty getting many restaurants, even my calls back. I don't do many reviews, but this restaurant deserves all good words! I saw a very free note to the owners of Julia Childs! If you are interested in a very nice dinner for a group of up to 20 people, this is the place to try!"

"Found this gem in Santa Barbara while traveling back home. I must say there's a reason why over 3500 people have reviewed this restaurant. It lives up to the hype. You are literally a couple of feet from the ocean so the views are breathtaking. Pictured are the crab cakes with a chipotle aioli, cup of clam chowder and fish and chips. A lot of clams in the chowder with a perfect creamy texture and flavor. The crab cakes tasted as if they were pulled out of the ocean minutes before going into the fryer. The fish and chips had a nice light batter and the fish was perfectly fried. The fries were tossed in ol bay seasoning which added a nice touch. Also, the tarter sauce was so good I had to order an extra one. My only complaint was the slaw. It had some type of fruit in it and the flavor did not go well with my pallate. The service was great as well. I would definitely visit this establishment again and if you are ever in the area, you will not regret it."

"I regularly get food from here. The buffalo chicken sandwich is my favorite. Sometimes I get it lettuce wrapped and then chop it up and eat it like a salad. Definitely recommend. My 6 year old tells me the French fries are ?scrumptious? his words and hedoesn?t like any French fries. Always super kind and helpful and seem like they really care. Great place to eat and support.They also support lots of great causes. Autism is in my family and I appreciate that they do a lot for that community."

"a beautiful environment and young, they ever pay for it. brunch, with pointed, was $110 per person. eating was good, but nothing extraordinary; the service was very good and our server, Alex, was very attentive to us. the intention is to die, and we could not have asked for a more beautiful day, it was so clear that they could all insulate a rare appearance. I will come back, but at this price, probably only once a year and for a special occasion."

"This review is specifically for Marilyn (I think is her name. She has long brown hair and is in her early 20s). I was having issues with the Peets app and connectivity and wanted to redeem some points and a coupon I had. Marilyn tried to help me but I had no reception, so she helped me out with redemption on my drink. The manager (I think) with glasses overheard me talking about it to my friend and asked me what had happened, then went over and spoke to Marilyn about it like she shouldn?t have done that. What?s so sad is that Marilyn did a great job, helped me out and I would have definitely stopped by this Peets when I pass through SB again. But the manager (or lead, whoever she was) listening in to my conversation and then talking to Marilyn about the situation made me feel what she did was wrong, when she was trying to make it right. Please give Marilyn a shout out and a raise. She?s great!"

"Cute restaurant offering a lighter take on Thai. That being said we had the tempura green beans — would order again, but lacking seasoning. Also the drunken noodles and Panang curry. "Atmospheric restaurant with great farm to table menu that was well executed. Very friendly staff and knowledge wait staff that perfectly described all the dishes and wines. Fantastic flavors! We had the roasted asparagus which was not only beautiful but roasted with a tasty Jalapeno Bearnaise sauce that was flavorful but not spicy. The brown butter cornbread was sweet and savory with a wonderful rosemary aroma. The California Catch was a lightly seared big eye tuna .. Very fresh and perfectly donel! The outdoor area where we were seated was cozy, next to the roaring fireplace which felt wonderful on this chilly evening. My only complaint was that after out appetizers when it plates were cheated we were asked to hold on to our cutlery...i think for the prices we paid we could have been given clean cutlery..i was left holding my cutlery in the air because i didn't want to place it on a table without a tablecloth... (Outside table near plants .. Birds etc ..yuk). A clean fork l and knife would not have broken the bank .. other than that... Great evening!"

"After watching the food network exposure to Santa Barbara before my trip to the city, I had to stop in Bettina before I left home. It was very pleasant in this facility with the friendly staff and amazingly furnished both outdoors and indoors. I decided to eat inside and the pleasant architecture and seating were good for me. Now to reach the priorities, the food! I have to say, after browsing the menu it was difficult to make a decision because the Pizza selection ALL sound great, but once I had taken some time, I landed on the Maitake Mushroom Pizza, which both had a beautiful ring to it and tasted incredible. The pizza came out wonderfully as you can see from the photos, but it was the coronation of fresh mozzarella, basil and red onions and Maitake mushrooms paired with the incredible crust that it did for me. The crust cooked to perfection as well as the pizza and deserves its own award. I loved the thin sliced Maitake mushrooms that made the food of pizza, which is much more rewarding. I would recommend this to everyone who visits the Santa Barbara area!"

"My new favorite restaurant. We drove up from LA to celebrate my birthday and looked for some place a little more special. It’s always great to find an all vegan spot, where you don’t need to ask questions and can order whatever you want. The food was amazing! Even our picky kids loved it. We devoured everything they brought- from the soup to the appetizers and main course and chocolate cake. The food was elegant and flavorful. Besides it being very busy with a wedding reception going on, the staff were incredible. They made us feel welcomed and were extremely attentive. What an amazing experience! I would love to visit Santa Barbara again, just to return to Oliver’s. Updated from previous review on 2022-05-02"
