"Was told by a local about this place so thought try it out. The service here was very good from the moment we went in till we left. Food was really good and enjoyed very much. Was not expensive in here as I had expected and I will be making a return here. Quite a little goldmine for the locals"

"Obviously the food is delicious and superbly presented but two [minor? flaws should be stressed here: in our party of four, two people did not speak French; they were given a menu in English (after we asked) to help decide but afterwards there was minimal effort towards them two of us were vegetarian, yet all the amuse bouche were meat based; maybe the waiters could ask before serving if every one is a meat eater (as not everyone will enjoy a slide of pigeon breast, no matter how beautiful it looks on the plate). So yes very good but please remember that not all your customers speak French, and not all of them eat meat.... Such assumptions are the reason why I would not desperately recommend this restaurant."

"Honestly it wasn’t a good experience. First of all I came and they told me they can’t give me a table since they are fully booked. I insisted since I only had one day and I really wanted to try the restaurant. So they finally offered me a table. I stayed there for 2 hours, the restaurant was never full. So I felt a bit unwelcome. Regarding the food, I only liked the fish. Food is boring and nothing was interesting to me. Some of the dishes were tasteless. The dessert also was very normal. They also made a mistake in one of the dishes, I requested that they remove something from on the dishes since I’m allergic, they didn’t. So they took the plat back and corrected the mistake. Overall, I wasn’t happy especially with the price I paid! I wouldn’t recommend."

"a real old farmhouse in a few minutes near the train station Sierre with a cable car ride and a short walk or a minute taxi ride. the owner/cook had previously a career in international hotel management. when he went to rest, he came back to his birthplace to take over his old family village café. the kitchen is largely simple traditional regional cuisine, as it was probably done before or before years of its previous. not unusual food guide place, but simple authentic village gasthof eating and ambiente from another time. a different experience and than that often found in the chic food guides. English, French and German is not a problem for employees. the local weine are superior as some of the best local weinbergs are actually located in the village. eating is of simple authentic traditional sorts. Actually, I'm a food, but I enjoyed this less demanding simple good food experience. the prices are quite reasonable. the very impressive chateau mercier is on the minute way back to the cable car station."
