"We sat outside by the water. The food was average. The cole slaw was chunky and flat no spice with way too much mayonnaise. Avoid it. The green beans needed some bacon or something to pick them up. The server insisted I changed my order from fried fish which fit the setting to what he claimed was a spectacular Grade A strip steak. Reluctantly I took the “special”. It wasn’t. I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium well. It was a scraggly strip steak thin and tasteless. The restaurant is a casual, understated waterside watering hole which probably does a better job with fried fish and French fries. I believe a “special” should be a special and was sad to have missed my opportunity to try their fried fare. Sadly, a leopard cannot change its spots"

"All right. The Trailer Park Taco is one of the best things I have eaten. The aromas go so well together. My husband still talked about his BFD (breakfast for dinner Burger hours after dinner. My daughter has never been so quiet when she consumed her chocolate chip waffle with bananas. She said she'd eat everything, but she's 3 and couldn't make it. (It's BIG! Then we tried and it was great too! Oh and their craftsmen are so good! The root beer was some of the best I had. Super creamy and delicious. I want to try the whole menu. Especially the red velvet waffle! Sounds so good! It is also a great atmosphere! Price: I found 11 very reasonable for the three great tacos, but I wish the meal of my three-year-old was not almost as much as mine. Maybe the bananas are with the cost of waffles to help that a little? The Taco and Burger prices were very reasonable in my opinion, but I was never somewhere where a 3 year old weapon costs $9.. I understand they're big, but it's a children's menu. but we still loved it and will be back!"

"At times Food is very good but not consistent. Depends on the cook's mood! At times it's a WOW and other times it's WHAT happened where's the meat? Last time we went a week ago, we ordered Thai curry. They filled the bowl with vegetables and 4 small pieces of chicken. Curry was watery like soup. One unhappy waitress and very moody.vnever go on a weekend.Therefore, it's good tasting but they are not consistent with the ingredients required. When we complained to the server, she said it's not her fault it's the cook's. Not too smart???????They don't have good management. Sad...They need more help, conscientious chef, good manager and consistency.If the can do that, that place would be a ten star restaurant."

"We came here because the reviews were high, after eating here I 'm completely baffled as to why? We arrived at approximately 9pm, they close at 10:30 on Saturdays. I ordered from the popular dishes area of the menu the new Mexico tostada 's, my husband ordered his usual fajitas but their menu didn 't offer a combo of steak/chicken so he went with chicken. Our daughter ordered the house carne asada quesadilla. May I just say the disappointment is what has me writing this review immediately after eating there. The food was BLAND, I mean REALLY BLAND. The chicken was barely seasoned, I say barely in the assumption that they sprinkled something back there in the kitchen because my husband and I tasted NOTHING. I usually ask for limes and salsa Verde, can I just say that 's all I tasted for flavor, I even added a bit of salt. We spent approximately $75.00 tip included, DEFINITELY not worth the money! I get excellent tacos with perfectly seasoned meat no matter the kind from street food vendors in my hometown. We LOVE Mexican food and sadly this restaurant came up so short in where it should matter (flavor) that we 'll never be back."

"I?ve been here three times now, and this is the 1st time I?ve actually had food. The first two times took so long to get the food (during non-peak hours) that I had to leave unfortunately. Decided today to try once more because I?m so crazy about their salsa. Again, took 20 minutes roughly to get two Tacos for lunch, but WOW! I tried the Loco Americano style Tacos and holy guacamole. Absolutely worth waiting for, and solidified that moving forward, I will plan to come when I?m not in a hurry. I truly enjoyed this meal and the differentiation it had from other Mexican restaurants. I wish the best to this family owned restaurant and hope that I?m just a ?one-off.?"

"Excellent service! I didn't even have to ask for a refill, which is a big plus for me. The food was quite tasty, and they offer gluten-free pasta as well. The bread was fresh and delicious. The prices are reasonable too. The desserts were fantastic. Update: I'm happy to report that the same outstanding service has been consistent with every visit."

"After reading some of the reviews for Hurricane I didn 't even wanna come by. I just moved back to Florida after being gone for 12 years. One of my friends is like lets go find a place on the water to eat so we can watch the sea planes go by. We wound up at the Hurricane instead. I 'm like I don 't know. The reviews on this place were sketchy. Kinda hit or miss. So she talked me into trying it as she hadn 't tried it either. Just goes to show you don 't trust any review go and find out for yourself. All of my reviews are honest and either are a pat on the back for the place or maybe some constructive criticism for the place. Anyway Hurricane pleased me before I even walked in the place. Conveniently located on 441. Huge parking lot so plenty of parking. The tropical Florida vibe hits you as you approach the front door. Water comes right up the the restaurant. Don 't feed the Alligator 's sign appropriately placed along the water lol uuuggg Outdoor seating area is huge. Awesome Key West vibe going on. Plenty of fans outside if it gets to hot. Walk inside pleasantly greeted by the hostess. Allowed us to choose our seats/view which was kewl. Had a singer there for Lunch Sunday the 13th. Claudia was our server. She was great and attentive. Came back to see how everything was after a few minutes. (that 's a sign of a great server right there! lol Had suggestions and knowledge of the menu. My friend got fish and chips and I got the Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos... MMMMmmmmmmMMMM Margarita 's were spot on. I mean the ambiance, the food, the staff all get 10 stars from me. I 'll be back again and again. Don 't listen to some of these bad reviews here or elsewhere. The bad review could be from a disgruntled employee or a competitor trying to make the business look bad. Hurricane was definitely a pleasant surprise. Great restaurant !!"

"Came last week for a repeat on the 1 lb Snow Crab Legs and was VERY pleased. Came back a week later and were barely edible. What gives? Old and dry, stuck to the shell and a pain to eat. Tasted too strong also like they were old. Don't think I'll risk it again. Thank goodness Snow Crab is widely available. Both bartenders asked how it was and when I told them I was disappointed they shrugged and said oh, well. Not worth the drive and $32."

"Great place to watch some seaplane action. View of water and area are beautiful. We had various burgers and they were huge and delicious. The pig cattle are a must if you like that. Onion rings, frits and pulp sticks with beer cheese were also really good. The service was very good, but like most places today they were thinly distributed. Waiting for a Sunday meal was about 20 minutes to sit down. Definitely worth it. We're going back. Band wad really good."

"We had to kill some time and take a bite, and I'm ALWAYS a fan of hidden diners out of the map. You can find them in a strip-mask, and immediately I could say the food will be great. When we walked in this place, history hasn't moved since the day she opened. Love these types of places because everyone who is welcome, and service here is super on point and friendly. The menu is HUGE for such a small place, so it went a bit through it. Ends up with what the server recommended, what the Mama's Peace Chicken Sandwich, with a page of spicy Mayo the server had made this morning. You needed such a meal! Prices are also super affordable. We finished it with the homemade cake (strawberry and oreo, one of each) that bound it together. If you have time to stop for lunch, you won't regret it."

"Were in Tavares on errands needed a quick bite to eat. Ordered 2 tacos de birria (asada) a torta de asada. Free chips salsa (first two orders) while we waited, chips made fresh salsa was fresh refreshing. The agua frescas (we ordered horchata jamaica) were freshly made in house delicious. You have the option to order birria in tacos, a quesadilla, or a burrito. The taste was savory tortillas were crispy while saturated with flavor melted cheese. The torta was also great. Highly recommend the medium avocado salsa with whatever you're ordering. Rice beans were also fresh the rice was probably the best we've had out to eat.Service was so friendly, restaurant was clean has nice ambience. Will be back!"

"Eat here for the first time. You have a posted message that due to personnel problems (together at this time in each catering) the waiting time might be longer than usual. However, we didn't have to wait long and if we had made the food worthwhile! I had chickens Curry Pecan salad, hands down best salad I had in my life. Sweet dressing super! My friends explained their turkey packs as completely fresh, well made and filled with good things! Very generous portion sizes, iced teas were cold and refreshing. 5 stars not enough for this wonderful food!"

"Hungry for shrimps? This is the place to go! I had Korean BBQ sticky shrimps with huge waffles sweet potatoes and broccoli. All were delicious! My husband had the regularly roasted shrimps and Amber Bock. The shrimps were quite substantially, and so were my son's chicken pliers. We had friendly and efficient service. Fun atmosphere, even if we were between lunch and dinner. Very recommended, and we will be back."
