"About two weeks later, I ordered some pizza. I got a 10-inch cheese and pepperoni thin crust, a 10-inch cheese and pepperoni "Blanket" pizza (a double-crust stuffed pizza), and my mom had the meatball sub. Although it didn't quite live up to the amazing first bite, I still found it impressive and enjoyed it almost as much as I had anticipated. It was genuinely good pizza for the West Bend area, and I was thrilled to finally discover it.
Many people criticize the food, claiming it's lackluster and labeling it a tourist trap because of the nearby hotels. I think that's unfair. Michaleno's is situated in a city where many options fall flat; West Bend itself is somewhat of a food desert. If you've tried any other restaurant within a three-mile radius of Michaleno, you’ll quickly see how superior it is. They prepare their food with significantly more quality than any other local spot.
As someone who grew up in one of the largest pizza cities in the country and struggled to find good pizza in Slinger for about a year, I’m incredibly thankful for Michaleno’s. It's refreshing to have at least one great Italian restaurant in the West Bend area. Many people may not realize how important that is. Give it a try!"
