"We were at the Iowa State football game for the weekend and looking for an excellent restaurant and found this one on-line and it sounded great. When we arrived we were impressed with the décor which is very attractive. From there it was not an enjoyable experience as the server apologized for the delay every time she brought some item. Our salads sat under a heat lamp for 10 minutes before being served. We were next to the kitchen so could see everything. Three of our pastas sat for close to 10 minutes before being served. The food is incredible and will be the best part of your visit. I have been to +39 twice and had great service both times. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a more fancy dinner in Ames

We like +39 because we can make a reservation (wish ALL Ames, Iowa restaurants allowed this! AND because of waiter Corey. We're going back in a couple weeks when the butternut squash ravioli hits the menu and we will be requesting Corey!

Had the 8 pm reservation for 2. Always nice ambiance and great food. Not enough help. The waitress kept asking what our drinks were. I just had red wine...easy, right...took forever to get them. Never did bring us our bread. Too much giggling . Not professional at all. All the help seemed out of sync. We drove 4 hours to attend the football game and stay overnight. Always had a wonderful experience there, til the 20th. Hard pressed to go back there ever again.
