"I only had time to visit this restaurant on CIA's campus, but the sensational food here makes me want to return to sample other restaurants. Simply put...it was a fantastic meal. Due to COVID restrictions, the restaurant was offering a limited menu. One of the student workers noticed that we were having difficulty making a entrée choice and quickly gave us the lowdown on what was best on the menu, including the chicken pot pie and the mac and cheese. Both of those were delicious! I'm not a fan of chicken pot pie, but this was extraordinary. The crust was light and flaky and the pie's contents were cooked to perfection. Came here for a breakfast treat and found it! Try the brioche pecan caramel roll- amazing! Just try not to think about the calories.....

While visiting my daughter, I had a day to myself and was driving from the Loeb at Vassar to Hyde Park. Since I had been to the CIA several times in the past, I knew I could make a quick stop to get a delicious lunch. It did not disappoint. There was a line but it moved quickly. I ordered soup (and bread to go) and sat in the seating area. Due to COVID there was no table service which did not bother me at all.

"I was here once for a business meeting and all we did was drink. Great service tho. But I came back by myself after a long day and had a nice dinner. I ordered the Branzino A La Plancha... It was Mediterranean Sea Bass, roasted cauliflower, grape tomatoes.....Then before I left I had some room for the Apple Cobbler and Vanilla Ice Cream.... It was slamming....Definitely a good meal after being on the #GRIND!!!"

"A solid pizza place for speciality slices! Came here looking for a quick bite before heading home. Service was as sweet and polite as can be as we ordered a few regular slices and a white slice. While you wait, enjoy the scenes of Italy painted on the walls. The white slice came with a thin spreading of ricotta with plenty of herbs and garlic on top. It was delightful. The garlic actually had a sweetness to it which was not offensive. And the undercarriage is quite thin but still soft. The regular slice on the other hand, not my favorite. Still thin, still cheesy, but I wish the sauce had a bit more flavor to round it out. Overall, if you find yourself starving after a hike or a walk in the area, would gladly recommend this place!"

"If you want to experience the best meal of your life, go to Essie 's, order one of their delicious cocktails (any will do), order grits croquettes (1 serving per 1-2 people), the earth-shatteringly delicious pork loin over a melange of grilled corn, broad beans, red peppers, and bacon, and end the evening with the stunning 'melon berries, ' which consists of amazingly light fruit sorbets, watermelon, ground cherries (the yellow midwestern fruit, not chopped up sweet cherries), mint, and candied grapefruit zest (plus superfluous but delicious sugar cookie bits). The chef has an extraordinary way with layered flavors and you will not be disappointed. But hurry! The menu changes seasonally. If you don 't like your food to touch/mix and you 're not a fan of trying new things, don 't go here. Everyone else? Call to make sure they have tables open (the place is small but not at all cramped) and get there in a hurry. Everything on the menu is excellent, but that pork loin dish was DIVINE. I can 't stop thinking about it."
