Conosci - Menü

Conosci only does a tasting menu. I have to think the 5 course is just too small but the 9 course tasting was excellent and just about right. As with most tastings, you wish they gave you more of some dishes but the portion size is actually just right. The presentation and service is outstanding with the exception that I wish they served the octopus on a plate so it could be sliced. The ceviche was incredible and the octopus was awesome. The wine paring is worth the money if you're a wine enthusiast and the sommelier is very knowledgeable and friendly. However, the cocktails are also very good. I had three different cocktails and liked them all with the Thai Daiquiri being my favorite.

We really liked this place. We had the five course (which was really six) tasting menu and thoroughly enjoyed the healthy, creative dishes. The focus was on seafood. The pacing was just right and the service was attentive and efficient. We sat at the bar and got to watch them prepare dishes, which was interesting. I had the $45 wine pairing, and the wines and sake were unique although I would have liked bigger pours. Each course came with an explanation of the wine and food. The only negative was the restaurant was not crowded and thus it was missing that pleasant buzz of a busy place. I am not sure why it hasn't caught on more after two years but we will be back and try the 9 course tasting...

While a huge relief to go to a restaurant where the ambient noise was low enough to hear myself think and my husband speak, I was disappointed that my server 's voice was still barely perceptible. That was especially significant at conosci where you are paying as much for the story of each bite (and 'bite ' is the operative word) and sip (equal value) as you are for the actual product you are consuming. She wasn 't picking up on the fact that she was not heard despite the fact that my husband or I had to ask either her or each other to repeat everything she said.
