Die Besitzerschaft gibt sich viel Mühe und zeigt sehr grossen Einsatz. Hier gibt es leckere selbstgemachte Kreationen für den kleinen Hunger (die Portionen sind trotzdem ordentlich und der Preis moderat). Das Publikum ist schön gemischt; Kreative, Einheimische und Touristen. Man kann Drinnen und Draussen Platz nehmen und sich der verdienten Pause widmen. Eine Variation an Tageszeitungen und Zeitschriften steht zur Verfügung. Und auch eine Steckdose zum Aufladen des Handys/Laptop. Dies ist noch ein Geheimtipp in Basel. Fazit: unbedingt hin und geniessen! Gastro-Tipp: unbedingt die Selbstgemachte Wähe ausprobieren.

Meine obligate Adresse wenn ich über Mittag in Basel zur Durchreise bin. Quasi direkt auf der Rückseite des Bahnhofs. Das Lokal selbst ist relativ klein, eng und fast immer voll. Im Sommer gibts aber eine traumhafte Gartenterrasse. Quiches und andere Leckereien für den kleinen Hunger. Dazu ein hausgemachter Kaffee oder ein "Bier von hier". Zwar kein offizielles Label, aber man merkt, dass die Betreiberinnen ein starkes Engagement für Bio, Fairtrade und regionale Produkte haben. Sehr netter, zuvorkommender Service, gemischtes Publikum, viele Stammgäste aus dem Gundeli-Viertel, das mitten in Basel noch einen gewissen dörflichen Charme ausstrahlt.

We stumbled over Del Mundo on our way to find our hostel! From the outside it looked like a nice place to take a coffee if necessary next morning! We decided to break the following day instead!!! The best decision we made on our trip!!! Caffé Latte has never tasted so good!! I had two! Variety of breakfast combinations, pastries, paninis, specialties etc. offer that you will not be disappointed what you want! Help yourself what you want without choosing one! Service was impeccable, but cooled and friendly at the same time! Basel is not cheap, but that was an invoice that I could justify as it simply DELISH!!!
