"Upon arrival we sat immediately, but waited something in front of our server Harry on the table. He never asked if a drink wanted other than water, and after taking our order, we didn't see him again until I hit him for the check. He also tended bar and had a whole section of tables. He seemed to do a wonderful job at the bar, but couldn't manage his tables. If we needed something with our meal, we should help him. The food was okay. I had the crab cakes that were excellent, but the sides were very moderate. The spinach was not properly seasoned and the potatoes were cold when they arrived. Our section was very loud, other areas in the restaurant were much quieter. I would eat there again when I visited Mt Vernon, but not from my way to visit."

"We arrived a little early for our reservation and they went ahead and sat down what we appreciate. Unfortunately, they went through a mostly empty restaurant and to the back room where the tables were mostly packed and it was quite loud. I took a star away for that. We did not come to eat in a beautiful restaurant, just to eat in a loud sports bar (that was the atmosphere. LOUD. While we were waiting for our food, they packed more and more people into the back room. There were many empty tables in the other rooms. Why are we all trapped in this room? ? As far as food is concerned, we ordered Mac n cheese with steak, golden potatoes, spicy broccolini and crispy bacon brussel sprouts. The food came pretty fast, probably because they have runners. The Mac n cheese was quite bland, the steak ok, the potatoes as expected, the broccolini sprouts sprouts delicious. Definitely the best on the table. My companion ordered a design porter and he said that was very good. So if you find yourself on this beautiful property and are hungry, the prices for a tourist destination are quite good. The staff is friendly. I just want to ask to sit in a dining area in contrast to the back room, unless you enjoy the bar experience."
