"I've never found okonomiyaki restaurant in Frankfurt before except in the events like streetfood. Through about frankfurt on instagram we found it. And it was as expected. The food were very tasty.. we ordered pancake and squid ball for the main meal. . If you come for lunch they give salat and soup for free.. so it was very cheap. For the dessert we choose the speciality of them schokonomiyaki and it tasted wonderful. . Never tried like that before. Highly recommended =)"

Konamon serves Japanese pancakes. Restaurant is small and staff is young. You need to reserve a table on a weekend night. Food is good and priced to the mid range 10-15 euro for a Japanese sized main course. No Hiroshima style pancakes served. The Squid balls are great.

This restaurant specializes in a traditional regional dish from central Japan, okonomiyaki. I never thought I would find such a place outside of Japan and maybe Hawaii or New York City, but here it is. A bit off the beaten path in Gallus. Very authentic experience, I gave it four stars as I don't personally love this dish (but my wife enjoyed it).

The food is strange and I am not sure it is just an issue of it being new and unusual. There is too much sauce on top, too much mayo, too many bonito flakes, which just overpower any other taste on the plate. I had the okonomiyaki with kimchi - it only tasted hot and like nothing else. I didn't think the food here was good, perhaps it is just not my taste.
