"I was so impressed by this place! Went with a friend and our server let us both try a couple different wines we were interested in before we selected a glass. We also got the baked Brie appetizer which came with a delicious homemade caramel sauce and then split the carbonara pasta which had a nice kick to it. Everything was delicious and then because our main dish took a little while to come out (no big deal to us), they were kind enough to give us the lemon cheesecake. Our server was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. They have a good happy hour deal too. Will definitely go back!"

"In a mini mall, so outer front appearance is deceiving. Inner restaurant is much nicer. Wonderful food at a reasonable price. The service was fantastic. The establishment was crystal clean. Some staff still chose to wear face diapers but others went without. Excellent country music playing overhead at correct volume. Lighting was perfect. Plus, they have a full bar. Seafood, Mexican food, American food. And the staff can actually speak English which is an unusual occurrence in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas."

"We wanted deep chicago style without all the red sauce. They were so accommodating and the pizza turned out beautiful and flavored perfectly. We enjoyed a nice chardonnay house version and it was perfect. We went right at 5pm before crowd hit and it was just right!"

"At Republic, you can select 3 different types of dining experiences. For a more family-friendly/business meeting, you can dine inside. Cocktail tables are available next to the bar area for anyone interested in enjoying drinks and appetizers. For a fun date night or a party with friends, you should dine outside in the patio on a Saturday night! The live music is great for dancing and singing-along! I tried the Salmon Avocado. It is grilled salmon on a bed of cilantro rice, topped with a creamy sauce of avocado, cilantro, tomato, onion and parmesan cheese, served with vegetables. It is so delicious! You can never go wrong with a cocktail at Republic! The Peach Blossom is a classic! Peaches and blueberries infuse the wine perfectly! The Serrano Margarita is refreshing with a slight kick of the chile. So good! I forgot to take a picture of the Olive Cocktail. It is off-menu, but you can request it! It is green olives in clamato, salsa Maggy and tequila with Tajin on the rim. It is perfect to eat/drink while enjoying your drink and listening to the music."

"However, there were a couple of concerns. When we arrived around 8:30 pm, no one was at the front counter, and we waited about five minutes for assistance. While that isn't a long wait, there was an unsettling drawing on the counter that was visible to all entering customers. Additionally, the manager asked a server if he had cleaned his areas and the bathroom, to which he falsely replied yes. Unfortunately, the bathroom was dusty—I even drew a line on the towel dispenser to highlight the dust. The floor was dirty, the mirror hadn't been cleaned in ages, and there was hair in the sink. Overall, our visit was enjoyable, largely due to our excellent server. However, the presence of that drawing and the improper attention to cleanliness made the experience uncomfortable, especially given the current climate of gun violence. It’s concerning that someone had the time to create such a drawing and left it in a highly visible spot where many customers could see it."
