"Great food. Ivy special was blacken catfish with crawfish étouffée. Fried green beans were also good. 8 of us and we all rated a 9 out of 10. We brought our own wine…10$ corking fee. 18% tip auto added. Lots of parking. Great service with a smile. A must stop in In Gonzales…right on hwy 61. Sorry for the bad pic. I usually takes pics but food so great I forgot to. This is a pic of a pic."

love eating. always great and expensive. service is great. I'm on a walker and the server helped me so much. I'm always here!

Service was great. Food is good but almost the entire menu is very heavy rich food. Lots of heavy sauces and cream. But it taste great if that is what you are wanting.

Really enjoyed dining at Philay's. The service was great. Menu offered a wide range of items to chose from. Seafood gumbo was delicious. The fried catfish would have been really good too except it tasted like crab boil. Cajun seasoning is one thing but crab boil seasoning in fried catfish is just wrong.

"My family enjoyed the opening night! I was a little nervous because with the beginning of a new place, there are always quirks to work, but everything went as smooth as possible!! "Food was delicious and very well priced! Waiter was an attentive, hard worker and with a little more experience will be great! The only suggestion I would have is to speed up the food service. There were maybe 8 tables total and we spent an hour and a half there. We weren’t in a hurry last night so the wait time for food didn’t bother us and again, the waiter came by an apologized a few times about it. I’m sure these are all kinks to being new so we definitely will be back!"

"The food was super fast and tastes good, but the Pita bread has almost no bag and it is impossible to open as soon as it is cooled. It was expensive for the portion size we also have. Salad, rice, hummus and meat all stacked on a too small plate without space to even stir your salad without food falling from your plate, what much it did."

"Touring Louisiana from west of the Rockies. Never ate Southern, Creole or Cajun. Heard good things about Don's so I tried it for lunch. Ordered things I never had before. First off, my waitress Savannah was great! Very personable and friendly. She patiently explained the foods that I could barely pronounce. lol I had the Boudin Balls appetizer and they were great. Their sauce had just the right amount of bite. Then the 1/2 catfish, 1/2 shrimp. Had the catfish blacked, a first for me. I subbed the French fries for the sweet potato casserole. OMG, that was amazing. If you go, ask for Savannah, she's a sweetheart!"
