"I’ve been a Porta Bella fan for years. Not sure I will go back anytime soon. 140 bucks (incl 15% tip) didn’t give me a price/value worm and fuzzy feeling. 3 people had cheese bread, small pitcher of Sangria, Porta salads, scallops pasta, fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, and pasta with vodka sauce. All the food was good. Specifically, the scallops were very tender (difficult to do), the sangria was definitely good for 2 people, but the chicken in the fettuccine was soggy. But the overall high price still didnt match the standard quality of the food. I was disappointed in the reduced menu offerings. I have been going to this restaurant since the 70's and I'm so glad it is still there. This trip we introduced some friends to this wonderful restaurant. Parking: There is public parking garage right across the street.

My review is not much different from others recently. This was our go-to date night a few times a year and this time the service and atmosphere was so poor and slow it was hard to enjoy the evening. The food was fine, but like others have said, I don 't need to drop $100 for 2 plates of pasta. So sad to see this Madison establishment has fallen so far. Disappointing.

"The BEST chocolate I have ever had! There are so many things to love about Madison Chocolate Company. The store is a little slice of heaven. Some of my personal favorites include the peanut butter covered chocolate and the coconut. The affogato is the best I’ve ever had, featuring divine Jenni’s ice cream. You can’t go wrong with any of the espresso drinks or the hot chocolate. Everything I’ve had here is a delight. The store interior is beautiful. A charming oasis on Monroe Street!"

"I recently tried the vegan sushi at this restaurant and it was truly unique and elegant. They have clear vegan labeling and offer a variety of options including vegan sushi rolls, appetizers, and desserts. The sushi was beautifully presented and creatively made with ingredients like paprika, zucchini, and tofu. It tasted gourmet and was definitely worth the praise. I also tried the vegan key lime cake for dessert and it was delicious. I would highly recommend trying their vegan sushi for a special dining experience, but for more affordable options stick to a traditional sushi spot."

"Very good soft chicken Tacos! Fresh, flavorful and ample fillings. The second menu item was delivered as a ground beef (instead of shredded beef) quesadilla with a liquid cheese sauce (not melted cheese topping). Although still a totally edible meal, just not what was ordered or expected. Nice beer selection, all drinks seen being served looked refreshing and delicious. It was very chilly inside, the outdoor temp was 37°, and inside felt like 50°. The ambiance is definitely hole in the wall , but it was clean in appearance. Seating was adequate and in good repair. Tables, booths in the back dining room,, and an 8-10 bar stool counter in front with a few tables booths in smaller front entrance dining area. The cook and waitstaff know how to hustle, food was delivered within 12 minutes of ordering. The other large customer table showed the steamy hot bowls of some soups and sides of rice that were added. It looked and smelled wonderful. Will definitely return! Small parking lot, shared with ajoining business, parking might be difficult at certain meal times."
