"that was our first time at rise wood fire. my first impression was that the place was very clean. the person at the door, michelle, was very friendly and although we were about 10 minutes early, she immediately sat us. shortly after sitting, ricardo, our waiter greeted us and took our drink order. he brought our drinks and took our job. When our food arrived, it looked as delicious as it sounded on the menu, the Neapolitan pizza was very good as the kazbah salat. I myself had the bark ribs. they were tender and tasty. they came with a side of fritten and koleslaw. we all agreed that eating was really good and look forward to try again some of the other elements on the menu."

eating was really good, but the service was really bad and the place was dead.

I was in the san mateo rise woodfire twice. once for a group celebration of my birthday and once for a lunch in a group of 3. for both were visiting service and quality of food excellent! I appreciate the ease of visiting the server from both. during the lunch visit our server recommended the Jalapeño massbread, so we ordered this and the truffle friries as an appetizer. between the two paintings I tried the calabrese pizza, the super bowl, the Mediterranean hummus cellar and the bbq chicken pizza. all were delicious. whether a date night or friend/family come together, rise woodfire is a great casual place for good eating and excellent service!
