"I arranged an overnight with dinner as a surprise for my wife’s birthday included were her parents. Lori and Lil, owners and chef, could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Lil got a golf cart to help my in laws to their room. They helped with our baggage and made sure we had everything needed for our overnight stay. The food is some of the best ever experienced. For entrees we had lamb chops, sea bass and petite fillets prepared similar to beef Wellington. As appetizers, we had escargot and friend onion soup. All were wonderfully prepared and were delicious. I am the great granddaughter of PT JW Burke. Lil and Lori outdo themselves with every experience. The Burkes would have been so proud of what has become of their family home. Thank you for another exceptional dining experience ?

We had lunch and the food was delicious. I had Croque Madame with a small side salad and the most wonderful cup of Onion Gratinee soup. There was no room for dessert. If I could stuff the dessert in, I would have had the bread pudding. Our wait person was so personable and very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. St. Jacques is on the top favorites of my restaurant list.

My wife and I have traveled to the Burke Manor several times (it's about an hour from our home), usually for dinner and a celebration, typically a birthday or our anniversary, and twice adding a night in one of the beautiful B&B rooms. This week personal business took us to nearby Burlington and we took advantage to visit Lil and Lori for lunch; we were very happy we did. As usual the food was excellent and the service from David was impeccable.

"The service was lovely and the bathroom was clean. Nice folks. While it pains me to say negative things that might negatively affect nice people, the food was barely edible. I can't account for the positive reviews. We had the vegetarian B and C platters at dinner on a Tuesday evening at 6pm. The food was insipid and the texture was off-putting. Not all of the food was entirely edible. The spinach quesadilla was so bitter that no matter how hungry we were, all of it had to stay on the plate."

"Unbelievable. We had Lasagna tonight or what seemed lasagna. It was mostly ground beef with a trace of noodles and bland sauce. It looked like Shepard's cake when they broke it out. No ricotta cheese. How can you claim to be an Italian Restuarant and not know how lasagna looks or tastes? We also had pizza and chicken alfredo from here. Not bad, but not great. The waiting staff is very nice. The bread they serve with the meal is really very good. However, there is no consistency and I doubt that the cook actually tastes the food. The dining room looks like a truck stop. I expect this from chain diverters today, but that was disappointing. Oh update they charge a fee of 3.25 % to use a credit card and not delete it until the entrance is printed. Unbelievable!!"

"I recommend either:Dining on a weekday, making a reservation on the weekend during daytime, or ensuring that the neighboring establishment is not holding an affair for drunken college kids....Because we were waiting patiently and making the best of an overcrowded situation, enjoying delicious food in the cozy outdoor seating, until everything digressed into a frat party. We couldn't get the check and evacuate fast enough, our waitstaff was nowhere to be found.I would be willing to try again another time, under different circumstances."
