"The staff are always so kind treat my young kids so well! Love all the sushi and miso. Great spot to stop on the way home from snowboarding, however the road crossings on Hwy 50 have changed a bit so plan your route ahead of time. Parking: Small parking lot, never had trouble finding a parking spot. Kid-friendliness: Always very kind to my kids, give little treats some times. Have plastic chopstick helpers for the kids. "Easily the best burger in town. If I'm coming through Placerville I've got to stop at Old Town Grill. The food is fresh and made with love. The owner John is an incredibly nice man who will remember your name for years and greet you kindly upon walking in on days he is working. The bacon blue cheese burger is a personal favorite. The outdoor seating area is well shaded and lovely. The decor is eclectic and the live parrot living inside the restaurant may not be for everyone but it certainly adds to the unique local charm of the restaurant. This is the lunch spot in Placerville. Don't let the lines scare you away, service is fast and the food is more than worth the wait."

You get a freshly baked cookie with every order and her iced tea is really good if you? into that? I also like that they are on DoorDash, because I plan ahead and just look through and can pick up a sandwich quickly. I like the hot T sandwich that is turkey, cranberry sauce, baja sauce on a Dutch knirschen roll."

"The service at this restaurant was friendly and attentive, with Ryan as our server. Everything from drinks to dessert was fantastic. One of my friends raved about the Mac and cheese, while another enjoyed the espresso martini. I decided on the Pork Tenderloin, while my husband and friend tried the Halibut special, which they said was excellent. Our other friend, who is very particular about his steaks, was pleased with his ribeye and topped it off with an affogato. We were too full to try dessert, but overall, our first experience at this restaurant was excellent and we will definitely be returning."

"my father i used to enjoy eating at mels diner.. i still enjoy the business.. however.. not at this location.. the entire restaurant was nearly empty.. yet we we serviced directly next to the restrooms.. which smelled freshly used.. we both could smell the stench of human mammal excretory.. the service team didnt ever offer a relocation.. we had to move ourselves to an ideal location.. didnt ever return for another meal.. it completely ruined my appetite shared experience with my father.. we dont endure restaurants together anymore.."

"So enjoyed this restaurant! The guy who answered and reserved the phone gave us a personalized tour through the resaurant/mine areas. The attitude was great. We ate the stairs, ordered Chicken Parm, Steaks and Jambalaya. Dinner was hot and attractive served by friendly waitress. It was a bit waiting until our dinner arrived... we were patient. (Maybe staff is tight due to Kovid) We enjoyed it!"
