"South Lane Bistro has an inviting beach shack ambience with a nice porch and gas fire that creates a warm space. The hostess is gracious and welcoming, and it seems as if all will be well. Unfortunately, the food is mostly uninspired and tasteless. The broccoli appetizer was the best--fresh and tasty but the veggie tacos contained only a few strips of red pepper and onion with little to no seasoning or herbs, all slapped on top of cold tortillas that were budget brand at best. A drizzle on top was purportedly aioli but seemed more like something from a fast food restaurant and added little. Thrilled to have gone back and had a good experience. Good food, great service and a fun atmosphere, especially if you sit on the patio.

Jazz in the background, assiduous staff, calamari and the scallops with corn risotto were very good. View of car park not too distracting. Interior bar area popular!
