"we are great carving fans so came here to try out it after reading the many great reviews on trip advisor. there is certainly a large selection to choose from loads of different carvings, sauces and sides, along with other favorites like curry sausage etc. Of course. the great selection also means that there is a great playroom for mistakes and I was a little disappointed that they get my order wrong. it is also inconsistent that we came twice, my wife ordered the same twice, and a completely different presentation was brought for the second time by the first. for a place with so much choice they are also strangely strict about what they can order: I asked if I could order curry sausage and...

To be honest, the place is pretty good, decent food and beers. In the middle of Freiburg. Staff was not really cool though.

We stopped here for lunch randomly and were quite taken with the lively feel of the place. The friendly waitress told us there would be a wait for our order to arrive on this busy Saturday. The food was decent, huge portions, and for a...good price, but it really was a very long wait.

they enjoy here on Easter Monday evening when many other places were closed. the service was friendly and fast. our German is not present and their new English menu came only next week. the chap was very helpful and its recommendation (Black Forest... sauce carving) was delicious. the outside-hoof setting was nice on red/white tablecloths and the beers were beautiful. chips were served on the side of the carving. I guess that proves Australians how it should be done.

"The reservation was okay. Unfortunately only a menu, not a-la-carte (Sylvester Evening), but was not announced. Starter and main course ordered. 1/2 hour later the appetizer came. Big plate, very little on it. Then 1 Sunde left nothing. Probably a lot to do on such an evening... When we asked, it turned out that our order was forgotten. We were then brought the two main courts 10mn later. It was good, but ate within 5mn. Then we cancelled the passport at this point. That cost us 86Euro and we went hungry and angry."

"We had a lovely evening in this restaurant, sitting outside in their Kartoffelgarten There are several vegan options, mostly potato-based. I had the sweet potato with veggies and a silken tofu and lemon dip. I enjoyed my meal a lot, although I must say that it was not very filling and for the price I had expected a larger portion and more sweet potato. My husband had the roast potatoes with nuts and the same dip, and he liked it a lot, although the meal was a bit small, too. Our highlight was the vegan crème brûlée that we had for dessert. The staff were very friendly, and as I said above, the outdoor seating is very pleasant."

"Came for dinner right at opening and the place filled quickly. We were seated right away. We had bruschetta, margherita pizza, and tiramisu. The bruschetta was flavorful and very tasty. The pizza was pretty good too. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious. Service was great. Positive dining experience!"

"At 6:00, the door opens here. Who has not reserved is often in the snake and has to wait. The ambience is very rustic and rather pub-like.
