"Gideon Ridge never fails to impress. As a party of five, we enjoyed a drink on the porch to watch the beautiful view and sunset. We opted to sit outside for our meal, but quickly realized it would be too cold. It was no problem we were moved inside to a comfortable table immediately. Enjoyed excellent duck, tuna, fine wine and delicious desserts. A wonderful evening highly recommended"

Each of the wait staff were so accommodating. Jessica, Carmen and Cory help each other out to make sure you have an excellent dining experience. The food is delicious and beautiful in the presentation of the food. The atmosphere is cozy, quiet and everyone seems to be enjoying there experience. The mountain views are beautiful too

Had an absolutely incredible dinner! My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and this was the perfect place to dine. Weather wasn't too good that night in the mountains, but the atmosphere inside was lovely. Service attendants were wonderful; knowledgeable, friendly, etc. Everyone there made our dining experience wonderful. Definitely recommend for anyone

"very nice restaurant with great food. my only problem was that I said at our original reservation that it was a very special birthday, so we can have the table at the kamin. I made the reservations months in advance when I also booked this inn. When I confirm, I mentioned it again and was told that they would make a note. then again when they called the day before I mentioned it and was told they would make a note. then I was told again that they would make a note. my thought was all the other comments! when we checked in after our reservation, we were a few minutes early and we said they couldn't check us in, as there were a few more before us. the tables were all literally empty, so not sure why we had to wait, but I said again, we should have the table at the fireplace and only then did the woman (which was not very nice) said they did not do any special table reservations! I had asked after 2 months and not one person said that before. also there were a few with a private table in the library all in itself, and the room is not part of the restaurant. why were they treated with a special table when I had tried to ask for a few months. that our dinner began very bad and was a special occasion that took me out."

"This place was amazing!!! We were a little overwhelmed at first. We came to the mountains for my wife 's 30th Birthday. She exclaimed that she wanted a nice dinner. We are from the Upstate of SC and don 't usually do high class restaurants. We have small children and it just doesn 't work well. But this weekend, Gramsey took the babies. Our waitress was Jay. SHE WAS FANTASTIC!!! Very personable, and knowledgeable of the menu. She could tell we weren 't use to this caliber of food but she never let us feel as though we were eating out of our league. She gave helpful recommendations and took all the time we needed to explain the fancy items on the menu. We ordered the Mushroom Fondue as an appetizer. It came out very fast and was Soooooooo good!!! My wife doesn 't eat mushrooms, but she really enjoyed it. While we were eating it, the hostess came by to check on us and was so polite. Our food came out and looked like art on a plate. My wife had the Pork Prime Rib and I had the NC Duck Breast. Forgive me for not knowing everything that came with the plates. I do know there were pickled veggies. Hers did have spinach, parmesan polenta and mine had lentils. Everything was delicious. While we were eating, the Chef, Tim, came to our table. Asked us how the food was and wished my wife a happy Birthday. He was extremely nice. Then we ordered dessert. I had the Blackberry Wine Cake and my wife had Creme Brule. These were the best desserts ever. Then a young man with a fantastic handlebar mustache named David came by, wished my wife a Happy Birthday. In fact, several of the staff did. Then when our bill came, Jay, our waitress informed us that the Chef, Tim, wanted to buy my wife 's dessert for her Birthday. It was a wonderful experience. One we never thought we would have had when we first walked in. And the view was so AMAZING!!! A painting only God could make. This place is a 10 out of 10 for sure."

"Stopped in for a late lunch yesterday afternoon. It was a 10 from start to finish. It wasn't at all crowded due to our arrival time and we basically had the back porch to ourselves. The house music was delightful and soothing and there was enough chill that they had the fireplace going. Our server Jessica made our experience even better with her pleasant demeanor and constant smile. We just wanted to relax and enjoy a nice meal as we were in no hurry whatsoever. Mission accomplished. Thanks Randall Pat Foster"
