"I was super excited to go here after I read all the good reviews. My food came out totally wrong. I ordered the vegetarian omelette with no modifications and it came out missing the cheese and the sun dried tomatoes. So I basically ate eggs with spinach and asparagus only. Our server never came to ask how our food was. I would not come back here again. It was a very disappointing experience"

"I visited this Peet's location on a Saturday evening around 7 PM. It is nestled within one of the nooks of Fairfax Corner Mall. (Full disclosure, I prefer the Peet"s roast over Starbucks and the general, overall feel of their cafés. I like coffee, often get it black, and don't much enjoy lattes. I will get mochas or Capps or just coffee with a packet of sugar. I got a Havana Cappachino, which h is a Capp made with a mix of espresso and condensed milk and I brought home a Harvest Honey Latte for my queen. They were both delicious and my drinks were upgraded to large, most likely because they were out of medium cups. The best part about this location is the overall feel which, at this time of year, is like a wintery inn...just needs a fireplace. Right now, you'll find holiday lights in the trees along the sidewalk so there is a warm, romantic, holiday feel."

"The food at this restaurant is incredible, especially the Apple soju which was delicious. The portion sizes are generous - we ordered a combo for two and it was more than enough. We also tried the cheesy rice, which was definitely worth it. Among the meat options in our combo, the bulgogi was my favorite. It was packed with flavor. Be sure to make reservations in advance as getting in without them can be challenging."

"My husband and I held our Wedding Ceremony and dinner party here on Christmas Eve 2016! Nothing but EXCELLENT things to say about the space, the food and most importantly the management of our event. The new owner, Bill, is an excellent chef and a seasoned professional. From the very start he was communicative over details and flexible to our needs. As we live in Hong Kong, most of our communication was over email and just a few site visits by my parents. We planned the event with just 1.5 months notice. We had 35 guests. Bill organized a welcoming cocktail hour with horderves, ceremony seating, a champaign toast with more horderves, and a 3 course dinner paired with wine. We brought in minimal decoration for tables and our own music. The historic house is cozy with dark wood, a wine bar and numerous fireplaces. Our guests raved over the food and the friendliness from the waitstaff. The space was transformed flawlessly to move from one event to the next. It was simple but truly elegant! We couldn't have asked for a better wedding day. I highly recommend Choices by Shawn for a small wedding or any other event."
