"Daughter and I went last week when she was visiting from out of town. I wasn 't very hungry, so I got the appetizer Brussels sprouts with fried ricotta cheese. Tried the lemon mustard vinaigrette which came with it a little too lemony for me, but the sprouts were awesome without it. Daughter got the Guinness braised Reuben that was hands down the best Reuben that either of us have had in a long time!! The gentleman who seated and served us was very sweet and helpful. Don 't remember his name though. The only thing we weren 't nuts about were the Oreo cookie beignets. He told us they were more like doughnuts than beignets which was definitely true. nasty. none of our food was good. chicken wings were dirty and did not come with a soak. the coleslaw was like eating soggy salt vinegar chips. the curds were in an oil bath. pretty mitte when you ask me

The waitress just ditched us at the end and never came back with my husband’s drink but they charged it to our check. He also had to walk up to the main counter to get our leftover box and check because nobody showed up.

The husband suggested we go downtown for happy hour. Weather was great we were looking for outdoor seating. Empire had an empty table outside. Empire was a pleasant surprise. The happy hour menu was varied the prices couldn't be beat. $5.00 cocktails appetizers. The husband ad wings a margarita. I got the fried cheese curds a cucumber gin tonic. The food drinks were great. If the happy hour was this good, I can only imagine what the regular menu is like. If you find yourself in downtown Louisville, check out The Empire.
