"We arrived towards the end of the lunch hour and mentioned wanting the mussels, which, were not on the lunch menu. However, the maitre’d asked the chef if he would whip some up anyway. He did, and they were, as usual, beyond wonderful. The warm responsiveness of the staff is amazing . . . rarely have I received this kind of response. Think about it: when is the last time you asked for something that wasn’t on the menu and the chef happily made it for you? The food is gourmet and delicious. This is a little gem of a restaurant."

Called me on Wednesday to tell me they have closed, as we had reservations for Friday. We always enjoyed the Wooden Table, and very sorry to see it go.
